The Football Association of Wales has confirmed that a comprehensive analysis and review of the Adran Premier<\/a> is under way as the association works towards the first ever bespoke strategy for the top-flight of women\u2019s football in Wales.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Positively transforming and elevating the domestic game forms part of the FAW\u2019s commitment to ensuring a legacy follows a historic summer in which the Cymru women\u2019s national team made their major international tournament debut at UEFA EURO 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Industry-leading consultancy agency Portas<\/a> have been appointed to lead the review process, with a focus on providing insight into the overall league quality of the Adran Premier, community and fan engagement and the current commercial landscape that the league sits within.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The review will utilise a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods, drawing on data analysis, stakeholder interviews, surveys, and case studies to provide an in-depth understanding of the league\u2019s current state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The analysis and recommendations delivered by Portas will form the basis of an athlete-centred high performance strategy for the Adran Premier, presented by the FAW in the spring of 2026. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we are witnessing growth across a number of areas within the women’s game in Wales, it is essential to ensure the continued development of the full pathway. We are excited to share the vision of announcing an Adran Premier strategy in 2026, with the aim to strengthen and elevate the domestic game in Wales.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
