DragonBet Stadium.

Celtic’s summer signing Kaitlin Smith scored her first goal for the club to open the scoring midway through the first half, which remained the difference until the 73rd minute when Alex Cridland slotted home a second goal for the visitors.

Cridland also found the net at the other end of the field as her own goal gave Bont a lifeline 10 minutes later, but Celtic were able to hold on to claim all three points.

Group 1’s other fixture between Taffs Well and Cascade at Rhiw Dda’r was abandoned at half-time due to a waterlogged pitch.

Cascade were a goal to the good thanks to Liv Townsend’s early strike, but the weather conditions caused the contest to be called off.

Group 2

Cardiff Met made it two wins from two games in the group stage as Scarlett Davies’ brace secured a 2-0 victory away at Carmarthen Town.

The Archers were kept at bay by their opponents after a goalless first half, but two quick strikes from Davies after the restart gave the visitors comfort.

Extreme weather conditions also took their toll at Stebonheath as Group 2’s match between Llanelli Town and Pure Swansea was abandoned due to a waterlogged pitch after just 10 minutes of action.

<img a 1-0 victory at home against Connah’s Quay Nomads.

The decisive moment arrived in first half stoppage time as Hannah Owen fired past Aimee Redfern for her first goal since joining Llandudno in the summer, condemning the Nomads to a first ever defeat in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage.

Berriew and Felinheli each got their first point on the board following a 2-2 draw at the Hayden Williams Recreation Ground.

Ellie Jones and Llywela Edwards scored to put Felin two goals to the good after 49 minutes played, but Samantha Jones immediately halved the deficit before Berriew captain Ellie Davies tucked away a stoppage time equaliser.

<hr class="wp-block-separator knockout stage with a 2-1 victory away at Bangor.

New Flint signing Beth Roberts netted her first goal for the club on 23 minutes to put her side ahead. Bangor then hit the woodwork three times during the match, but their equaliser eventually arrived in the 90th minute courtesy of 16-year-old Holly Owen-Roberts.

That looked to have earned Bangor a point, but Hughes headed home in the fourth minute of stoppage time as the Silkwomen snatched all three points to confirm their place in the knockouts for the second consecutive season.

There was more late drama in Group 4 as Lucie Gwilt’s stoppage time winner earned Llanfair United a 2-1 comeback victory away at wildcard entrants Llangefni Town.

Llangefni led at half-time thanks Eleanor Coulson’s seventh minute strike, but Sophie Cook equalised for Llanfair four minutes after the restart. The visitors continued to show their quality and it was player-manager Gwilt who popped up with a dramatic late winner to keep her side’s last 16 hopes alive.

Llanfair and Bangor will now battle it out for the final qualification spot in Group 4 when both sides meet at Mount Field next month. Llanfair are currently in second place via goal-difference, so anything but defeat will be enough to see them through, whereas Bangor must win.

Genero Adran Trophy weekend results in full:

Group 1

Penybont 1-2 Cwmbran Celtic
Taffs Well A-A Cascade

Group 2

Carmarthen Town 0-2 Cardiff Met
Llanelli Town A-A Pure Swansea

Group 3

Berriew 2-2 Felinheli
Llandudno 1-0 Connah’s Quay Nomads

Group 4

Bangor 1-2 Flint Town United
Llangefni Town 1-2 Llanfair United

The second round of group matches in the Genero Adran Trophy provided plenty of late drama as two sides booked their spots in the knockouts.

[178
post-11731","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-genero-adran-trophy
["GET
