Lisa Owen says that Cardiff City will aim to utilise their experience of winning silverware when they face Wrexham in the Genero Adran Trophy final at Bangor City Stadium on Sunday (KO:17:00). <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iain Darbyshire’s Bluebirds, three-time Genero Adran Premier champions, have won the last four Bute Energy Welsh Cup finals – the last two against Wrexham – and also lifted the Genero Adran Trophy in 2024. The last final that they lost was in this competition three years ago. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It\u2019s about not letting the occasion get to us, to play our football and just not let the nerves get to us,” Owen says. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“They [Wrexham] are a very good team, they’re very organised. They’ve got very good attacking players, but I think we’re just as good and we can compete with them, no problem.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last season, the Genero Adran Trophy was the only piece of domestic silverware that Cardiff did not get their hands on, as they were knocked out at the quarter-final stage by eventual winners The New Saints. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Owen says that the Bluebirds need no extra motivation to reclaim the trophy in Bangor on Sunday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’re always motivated to win as a team, we’re very competitive and everyone in the team wants to win as much as possible.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A treble for both sides in Sunday\u2019s final is still on for this campaign, with both in blistering form throughout the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The title race is set to go down to the wire, with Cardiff currently sitting top of the Genero Adran Premier table, four points clear of Wrexham but the Red Dragons have a game in hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Competitiveness is always rising, but the Bluebirds continue to keep pace and are unbeaten in all competitions since the very first league game of the campaign in September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs a team I think we’re doing very well, keeping to our standards and flying at the minute,\u201d Owen said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
