Wrexham closed the gap on Genero Adran Premier leaders Cardiff City to just one point with a 3-1 victory at the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday afternoon. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just one week after they beat the Bluebirds on penalties in a thrilling Genero Adran Trophy final, Wrexham took the lead with 55 minutes on the clock as Rosie Hughes intercepted the ball in midfield, allowing Faye Knox to drive forward and curl beautifully into the top corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff equalised in the 73rd<\/sup> minute as Mackenzie Olden fired home the loose ball from Megan Bowen\u2019s scuffed effort, but Wrexham were back in front just five minutes later as Katie Barker raced onto Ava Suckley\u2019s through ball, cut inside and found the top corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Red Dragons were then awarded a penalty and the chance to put the game to bed in the 87th<\/sup> minute as Mariam Mahmood was brought down inside the area by Nieve Jenkins. Barker stepped up from the spot and drilled her effort past Ceryn Chamberlain to secure a famous win. It was a first domestic home defeat for Cardiff since March 2025, which also came against Wrexham, who are now one point behind the leaders with a game in hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pontypridd United\u2019s relegation from the Genero Adran Premier was confirmed after a heavy 5-0 loss to Aberystwyth Town at USW Sports Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aberystwyth captain Amy Jenkins scored twice in the opening 22 minutes to put her side in control as she finished from close range before heading home from Rebecca Mathias\u2019 cross. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Seasiders continued to threaten from out wide as Mathias added a third goal shortly before half-time by nodding in at the front post from Shauna Chambers\u2019 delivery. Dani Mawle and Millie Gardiner both scored their first ever top-flight goals in the second half to seal Aber\u2019s biggest ever Genero Adran Premier victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swansea City should not be ruled out of the title race as they moved five points behind top spot, with a game in hand, after their 5-2 win over The New Saints at Park Hall. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chloe Chivers opened the scoring in style after just three minutes played as she sent a free-kick from distance into the net via the underside of the crossbar. Tiggy Webb finished from Kelsey Richardson\u2019s corner as Saints immediately drew level, but Chivers restored Swansea\u2019s lead with another stunning free-kick, this time from 35 yards out, in the 22nd<\/sup> minute. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chivers completed her hat-trick on the stroke of half-time as she received Caitlin Williams\u2019 pass and sent a looping effort over Orla Howard. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chantelle Teare pulled a goal back for TNS by racing onto Lexie Harrison\u2019s through ball and firing into roof of the net, but the Swans had their two-goal cushion back when Eilish Mitchell headed in the rebound from Chivers\u2019 saved free-kick. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A remarkable afternoon for Chivers was complete shortly before the full-time whistle as she sent another strike from distance over Howard for her 16th<\/sup> league goal of the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nothing could separate Briton Ferry Llansawel and Barry Town United in a 1-1 draw at The Renewable Centre Stadium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caitlin Seaborne thought she had put Ferry ahead when she headed home from Lucy Powell\u2019s corner, but the goal was ruled out for a foul on Barry goalkeeper Molly Arnesen. The Reds were not to be denied in first half stoppage time though, as Maia Owen received Jade Crofts\u2019 pass and fired into the net from the edge of the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barry salvaged a point in the 76th<\/sup> minute when Lowri Ridings\u2019 foul on Beca Thomas inside the area allowed Erin Murray to convert from the penalty spot. Ferry are now winless in their last seven matches in all competitions, while Barry are unbeaten in four out of their last six league games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
