Confident in possession and commanding at the back, her influence quickly spread throughout the squad. The 34-year-old also contributed important goals and assists, and fittingly captained the side to the league title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CB: Nieve Jenkins (Cardiff City)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cardiff boasted the best defensive record in the division, and Jenkins was central to that. A rock at the heart of the defence, she featured in all but one league match this season and, at just 24, is continuing to develop into a strong leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LB: Lucy Finch (Swansea City)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finch earns her place in the team in what proved to be her final season as a player. Having enjoyed a trophy-laden career, she bows out after featuring in 14 of Swansea\u2019s 20 league matches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>RM: Mikayla Cook (Cardiff City)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A product of the Bluebirds academy, Cook registered 19 goal contributions before departing the club. The 21-year-old has improved year on year and will be difficult to replace, with attention now turning to where she heads next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CM: Lily Billingham (Cardiff City)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Billingham brings relentless energy to midfield and has developed into a well-rounded player. Her knack for producing match-winning moments and dragging her side over the line made her invaluable to the Swans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LM: Faye Knox (Wrexham)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Knox enjoyed an excellent first season back in Wales after joining from Bolton Wanderers. The former Wales U19 international scored nine goals this term and has ambitions of breaking into the senior national team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ST: Katie Barker (Wrexham)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A record-breaker this season, Barker reached 25 league goals and scored against every team in the division.
