Reigning Genero Adran Premier<\/a> champions Wrexham aim to continue their perfect start to the season when they host managerless Barry Town United at The Rock on Sunday.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wrexham have begun their new campaign in emphatic style with a 4-0 opening day win over Aberystwyth Town before a 4-2 triumph away to last season\u2019s runners-up Cardiff City last weekend. Attacking duo Katie Barker and Natasha Thomas have already formed a dangerous strike partnership together as the pair have scored in both fixtures so far. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jenny Sugarman\u2019s side will have every reason to be confident they can claim a third consecutive win as their opponents Barry have endured a difficult start to the season. The Linnets are still awaiting their first points of the season after defeats to Briton Ferry Llansawel (4-1) and The New Saints (9-1), with their heavy defeat in North Wales last weekend leading to James Fishlock\u2019s departure as manager. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A late own goal from Angharad Beman saw Wrexham edge past Barry with a 3-2 win at the ST\u014dK Cae Ras in the first meeting between the two sides last season, but the Red Dragons were a lot more convincing in the reverse fixture as Barker\u2019s hat-trick inspired a 6-1 victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newly-promoted Cardiff Met aim to build on their first point of the season as they travel to face Swansea City at the ThermaGlaze Ground.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff Met kept The New Saints at bay for over an hour in their opening day fixture, but were edged out in a narrow 2-0 defeat. Jonathan Nash\u2019s side took the positives from that solid display into last weekend\u2019s trip to Briton Ferry Llansawel, where Carys Gittins\u2019 second half goal rescued a 1-1 draw. That result already means the Archers have gained more points away from home than they did in the entirety of Phase One in 2024\/25. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six new faces have joined Cardiff Met following several key departures from last season\u2019s promotion-winning squad<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Swansea City opened their campaign in the best way possible with a 3-1 victory over Cardiff City, which ended a run of seven straight defeats against their arch rivals. It was a much less prettier victory for the Swans last weekend as they required a first half penalty from Aimee Deacon to beat Aberystwyth Town 1-0. The most important thing for Yzzy Taylor\u2019s side was securing all three points, but they will still hope to find their free-flowing style like they showed in their opening day win over Cardiff. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deacon scored twice for Swansea in a rampant 4-0 win over Cardiff Met in last season\u2019s Genero Adran Trophy knockout stage. The Swans needed late goals to earn both 2-1 and 2-0 victories over the Archers in the last top-flight meetings between the two sides in the 2024\/25 season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Early league leaders The New Saints are the third club with a perfect record still intact, and they now travel to face Aberystwyth Town at Park Avenue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saints claimed a narrow 2-0 away to Cardiff Met on the opening day before storming to a 9-1 home victory over Barry Town United, where Abbie Iddenden made history by scoring the fastest ever Genero Adran Premier hat-trick in under five minutes. Following that statement win over Barry, manager Kieran Lee-Birch said \u201cwe told the players that Cardiff and Wrexham are going to be looking at this score, so we can show what we are about. We are desperate to stay top of the table.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aberystwyth faced a difficult task in their first fixture as they travelled to champions Wrexham and suffered a 4-0 defeat. Aber improved last weekend despite losing 1-0 to Swansea City, so the Seasiders have certainly showed they are capable of competing with last season\u2019s leading pack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aberystwyth stunned TNS with a 1-0 home win last September, but Saints eventually got their revenge in January with a 2-0 victory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winless Cardiff City will see their home fixture against Briton Ferry Llansawel at the CIS Stadium as the perfect opportunity to get off the mark for the new campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff have suffered defeats to South Wales derby opponents Swansea City and last season\u2019s title rivals Wrexham, which has not been the ideal start to Noah Bushby\u2019s reign as manager given the significance of those results. The Bluebirds will be without summer signing Haile Richards this Sunday following her late red card against Wrexham last weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Briton Ferry are currently on the longest unbeaten run out of any team in the Genero Adran Premier after carrying over their form from last season\u2019s Plate Conference into the new campaign. Jade Crofts has already hit the ground running with three goals across a 4-1 win over Barry Town United and a 1-1 draw with Cardiff Met. Missed chances proved costly for the Reds against Met last weekend, most notable when Lucy Powell failed to convert from the penalty spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
