Early Genero Adran Premier frontrunners Wrexham and The New Saints will put their perfect records to the test when both sides meet at The Rock on Sunday.

Reigning champions Wrexham moved top of the table on goal-difference with a rampant 8-1 victory away to Briton Ferry Llansawel last weekend. Jenny Sugarman’s side have now scored an outstanding 23 goals across their four consecutive league wins so far, with strike duo Katie Barker and Natasha Thomas, who both bagged hat-tricks against Briton Ferry, netting 13 of those.

Lili Jones has also been a standout performer for the Red Dragons so far with five goal contributions, while Faye Knox has already registered five assists in just 88 combined minutes across wins over Barry Town United and Briton Ferry.

The New Saints maintained their perfect record in the dramatic fashion last Sunday as Fiona Barry’s stoppage time goal sealed a thrilling 4-3 win over Swansea City. A brace for Barry in that victory took the 20-year-old joint-top of the league’s scoring charts, sitting on seven goals alongside Wrexham’s Barker. Kieran Lee-Birch’s side are now seeking another statement win, which would make it five consecutive victories for Saints for the first time in over two years.

Saints were 4-2 victors in the first meeting between the two sides last season, but Wrexham responded with 2-0, 4-1 and 1-0 wins on their way to lifting their first ever top-flight title.

Cardiff City go searching for their third consecutive victory when they host capital rivals Cardiff Met at the CIS Stadium.

The Bluebirds have responded to early defeats to Swansea City and Wrexham in style as they got off the mark a fortnight ago with a narrow 3-2 win over Briton Ferry Llansawel. Noah Bushby’s side then produced a clinical display to triumph 4-1 away to Barry Town United last weekend and climb into the top half. Last season’s runners-up are still awaiting their first clean sheet of the campaign, having conceded 10 goals in their first four matches – a total they did not reach until their 10th league game last season.

Houghton made the move from Met to City in the summer and was influential in their win over Ferry

Met have made a solid start to their first season back in the Genero Adran Premier and head into Sunday’s local derby fifth in the table on four points. The Archers put a 3-1 defeat to Swansea City from two weeks ago behind them as Faith Mulenga’s second half strike sealed a 2-1 victory over Aberystwyth Town – Met’s first top-flight win at home since March 2024.

Ffion Price scored three goals across 3-1 and 4-1 wins for Cardiff City against Met in the 2024/25 Genero Adran Premier. The most recent battle between the two teams came in last season’s Bute Energy Welsh Cup, where the Bluebirds won 5-0 on their way to winning the trophy.

Swansea City are looking for a return to winning ways when they travel to play Barry Town United at Jenner Park.

Swansea were handed their first defeat of the season after suffering late heartbreak in a 4-3 loss away to The New Saints last weekend. Yzzy Taylor’s side remain third in the table and may look to Chloe Chivers for inspiration, with the forward scoring twice and assisting in the narrow defeat at TNS.

Bottom-of-the-table Barry are still awaiting their first point after starting the season with four straight losses. Steve McCarthy-Campbell, who returned to Barry to replace James Fishlock as new manager, has faced two tricky tests since his return to the club following defeats to Wrexham (7-0) and Cardiff City (4-1).

The Swans did the double over Barry last season as Chivers scored twice in a 4-0 away victory before she bagged a hat-trick in a rampant 7-1 win.

Aberystwyth Town are also still searching for their first point of the new campaign, as they prepare to face Briton Ferry Llansawel at The Renewable Centre Stadium.

17-year-old Sioned Kersey scored her first ever Genero Adran Premier goal and Aberystwyth’s first goal of the season last weekend, but Kersey’s special moment was not enough as the Seasiders squandered their lead in 2-1 loss to newly-promoted Cardiff Met.

Briton Ferry began their season with a convincing 4-1 win away to Barry before drawing 1-1 with Cardiff Met a week later. Mark Murison’s side showed their resilience once again despite a narrow 3-2 defeat to Cardiff City, but they are now hoping to bounce back from an 8-1 loss to reigning champions Wrexham last weekend – Ferry’s heaviest defeat in any competition for over seven years.

Aberystwyth were on the right side of drama in both Phase One fixtures against Ferry last season as Carys Bufton’s hat-trick completed a 3-2 comeback win before Rebecca Mathias netted in stoppage time to salvage a 2-2 draw. Ferry gained revenge with a 3-0 away triumph in the first Plate Conference meeting, but the Reds were outdone late on again as Libby Isaac’s late goal rescued a 1-1 draw for Aberystwyth.
