Aberystwyth Town midfielder Imi Scourfield has earned a call-up to the Cymru WU19 squad for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 17-year-old only made her Genero Adran Premier debut in the Seasiders\u2019 3-0 win over Barry Town United on the opening day of this season, contributing an assist, but she has quickly become an integral part of Gavin Allen\u2019s team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scourfield has featured in all five league matches so far this term as Aberystwyth have claimed eight points to sit fourth in the table. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI have enjoyed the Adran Premier so far,\u201d Scourfield told\u00a0Cymru Sport<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0last week. \u201cIt is a tough step up from U19s, the game is quicker and you have got more decisions to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cBut without the experience of the girls like Becs [Mathias], Kel [Thomas] and Amy Jenks, I wouldn\u2019t have been able to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tenby teenager joined the Seasiders from Neyland Pink Pirates in the summer of 2022 and scored eight goals in 14 appearances in the Genero Adran South U19 Division last season. She was also part of the first team squad that lifted the Central Wales FA Ladies\u2019 Challenge Cup in April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now Scourfield has received international recognition and will join up with a Cymru WU19 squad which also contains former Genero Adran Premier players Olivia Francis, Evie Hughes, Maisie Miller and Manon Pearce. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nicola Anderson\u2019s squad will face three UEFA WU19 EURO Qualifying Round matches over the next week against Czechia (Tuesday 24 October, 18:00), England (Friday 27 October, 18:00) and Greece (Monday 30 October, 12:00).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cymru are in League A, with the top three teams in the group staying in League A for the Second Round of qualifying and the team that finishes fourth being relegated to League B. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cymru\u2019s matches will be played behind closed doors, but fans will be able to watch the first match against Czechia free of charge on\u00a0RedWall+<\/a><\/strong>, the FAW\u2019s streaming platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
