Briton Ferry Llansawel will turn their attentions back to the Genero Adran South on Sunday as they host Caldicot Town.\u00a0<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The Reds suffered back-to-back defeats to Wrexham in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup and Genero Adran Trophy before Christmas, leaving them with just the promotion race in the league to focus on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rhys James\u2019 side are level on points with Cascade at the top of the table, but have two games in hand which could prove to be crucial. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ferry have scored 30 goals in five matches and are yet to concede, while in contrast, Caldicot sit seventh in the table with just one point from five matches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Caldicot did give Ferry one of their toughest tests in the league this season in the reverse fixture in November when the division\u2019s top goalscorer Alison Witts scored the only goal in a narrow 1-0 victory for the Reds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cascade will hope to keep up the pressure on Ferry at the top of the table, but they host a spirited Swansea University side whose Genero Adran Trophy run was ended by The New Saints last weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dan Sheehan\u2019s side also won the reverse fixture in November, as goals from Hannah Pinney and Katie Horsburgh earned a 2-1 triumph. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That was only a second league defeat of the campaign for Cascade, while it moved third-place Swansea Uni to within four points of the top two. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bottom of the table Coed Duon will continue to go on the hunt for their first league win of the season when they travel to fourth-place Cwmbran Celtic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dragons were beaten 5-0 by Pontardawe Town in their last league outing, whereas fourth-place Celtic picked up an impressive 2-1 win away at Swansea University courtesy of goals from Georgia Shwartz and Jade Crofts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the two sides\u2019 first meeting of the season, but both of their encounters in the SWWGL last season were eight-goal thrillers \u2013 a 4-4 draw before an emphatic 7-1 win for Celtic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pontardawe Town and Llanelli Town met in their final league game of 2023 and they will now go head-to-head again to kick off 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A first-half Stacey Webber strike was enough to earn Llanelli Town a 1-0 win in that reverse fixture – a result which saw the fifth-place Reds move four points clear of their opponents in sixth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is two wins, two draws and two defeats for Llanelli in the Genero Adran South since their promotion from the SWWGL, while Pontardawe have won just one of their six league games this term. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
