The two semi-final losers will meet in a third-place play-off on the same day at the same venue.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been a busy summer for Cardiff since they completed a domestic treble of the Genero Adran Premier title, Bute Energy Welsh Cup and Genero Adran Trophy in 2023\/24.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-04-07-Cardiff-City-Women-v-Wrexham-283-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8873\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-04-07-Cardiff-City-Women-v-Wrexham-283-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-04-07-Cardiff-City-Women-v-Wrexham-283-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-04-07-Cardiff-City-Women-v-Wrexham-283-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-04-07-Cardiff-City-Women-v-Wrexham-283.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Talismanic captain and defender Siobhan Walsh has retired, while Genero Adran Premier Player of the Season Seren Watkins and Bute Energy Welsh Cup final goalscorer Rhianne Oakley have both completed moves to West Bromwich Albion.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, five players have come through the door in the Welsh capital and they are all included in the travelling squad this week.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shannon Evans and Lily Billingham are both back at the club after spells away, while former Swansea City and Cardiff Met midfielder Nieve Jenkins adds further Genero Adran Premier experience. Meanwhile, Laura Curnock and youngster Fiona Barry have arrived from the English system to bolster the attack.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bluebirds will hope to show an improvement on their UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League performance last season \u2013 their first appearance in the competition for a decade \u2013 when they lost 2-0 to Gintra of Lithuania in the semi-final before a 3-0 defeat to Irish side Shelbourne in the third-place play-off.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-07-15-Cymru_training_ac_228-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8875\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-07-15-Cymru_training_ac_228-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-07-15-Cymru_training_ac_228-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-07-15-Cymru_training_ac_228-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/dogirq7bi39sv.cloudfront.net\/2024-07-15-Cymru_training_ac_228.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Cymru goalkeeper Olivia Clark joined Twente from Bristol City this summer<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>FC Twente have won the Eredivisie Vrouwen title in three of the last four seasons and eight times in total. Their 2024\/25 campaign got off to the perfect start on Saturday as they triumphed 6-1 over Ajax in the Netherlands Super Cup, with Kayleigh van Dooren scoring a hat-trick.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Twente have reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Women\u2019s Champions League on three previous occasions, most recently in 2020 when they were beaten by eventual runners-up Wolfsburg.
