FAW Referee Award

The FAW Referee Award is a fully interactive, video-led online course which prepares you for the challenge of becoming a Referee.

Once you’ve passed your online Referee Award you will attend an in-person practical session with a refereeing expert who will put you through your paces and get you ready to begin your refereeing journey.

Steps to Becoming a Fully Qualified Referee

Add your details
At the beginning of the course you’ll be asked to add a range of important information. Here you’ll add your preferred end of course face to face session location and date and your kit size.

Order kit
Complete the form on the ‘Before you Begin’ lesson to receive your Macron referees kit.

Complete course
Work your way through the sections and then pass the exam.

Receive your certificate
When you pass the course you’ll receive your official referee certificate. Keep it somewhere safe.

​Attend face to face session
Go along to the final face to face session you’ve chosen. Here you’ll go through the last few steps to becoming a fully qualified referee. You’ll also get a chance to chat to your local area referee representative about officiating upcoming games.

Officiate your first game
Once all the above are completed you can officiate your first game!
