Fresh from announcing her squad for the Euros in Switzerland this summer, Cymru Women\u2019s National Team Manager Rhian Wilkinson was on hand to officially open two new grass pitches at Gloddfa Glai<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cymru’s Head Coach was joined by goalkeeper Olivia Clark, who cut the ribbon to unveil two new grass pitches in the village in a huge boost to local football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new pitches welcomed a football festival for local school children and will be ready of use ahead of the new season.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CFF \u2013 backed by the Department of Media, Culture and Sport\u2019s Grassroots Facility Programme \u2013 has invested almost \u00a3280,000 into creating these two new pitches as part of a wider commitment to improve grassroots facilities across Cymru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This latest project takes the total invested into facilities across Gwynedd by the Cymru Football Foundation to over \u00a31.2 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director at the Cymru Football Foundation, Aled Lewis said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Cymru Football Foundation is committed to investing in facilities that inspire communities. These new pitches in Talysarn will be essential for the growth of the football club and ease access to grassroots facilities in the village.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA huge thank you to our partners, UK Government and Cyngor Gwynedd in supporting the development of these new facilities. Through the power of collaboration, we\u2019re making huge strides in improving football facilities in Wales on and off the pitch.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman at CPD Talysarn Celts, Alun Fon-Williams said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe financial support that the club has received through the CFF and Cyngor Gwynedd towards the project has been absolutely invaluable. The project has secured the club\u2019s long-term future, a future that will now enable us to bring everyone who is part of our ‘football community’ together here at Gloddfa Glai.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CFF supports the development of football through investment and guidance as it delivers the Football Association of Wales\u2019 commitment to develop inspirational fit-for-future football facilities that will improve and grow Welsh football both on and off the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since February 2022, the CFF has invested over \u00a318 million into supporting fit-for-future facilities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
