The Cymru Football Foundation is working nationwide to support the growth of the Women and Girls\u2019 game \u2013 this means removing barriers that are preventing many from taking part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research by Women in Sport found that seven in 10 teenage girls avoid activity when they\u2019re on their period and providing period care at local clubs was one of the top three most impactful changes that could be made for females in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s why we\u2019re working to deliver free period care products to over 60 grassroots clubs across Cymru \u2013 working to improve football environments for women and girls both on and off the pitch for players, coaches and supporters of our domestic game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This follows on from the recent news that the CFF will be investing \u00a31million<\/a> into refurbishing off-field facilities to make them safer, more inclusive, and inspiring through our the Environments For Her fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the success of our Women\u2019s National Team, women and girls across the country have been inspired to lace up their boots and take to the field and it\u2019s essential that we make Cymru\u2019s footballing landscape inclusive for all. The CFF will commit to providing free period care products to every club that receives a grant from us. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative has already seen packages sent out to several clubs including North Cardiff Cosmos FC, Hawarden Park Girls and Ladies FC, Graig Villa Dino FC and Ystradgynlais AFC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kelly Davies, Chair of Trustees at the Cymru Football Foundation and former Cymru International said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Cymru Football Foundation is committed to making on and off-field facilities inclusive, welcoming and inspiring for all and this provision is another step in emphasising that.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith our Women\u2019s National Team embarking on their first EUROs campaign, so many women and girls have been \u2013 and will be \u2013 inspired by them for years to come and it\u2019s important we do as much as we can to create environments across Cymru\u2019s footballing landscape that welcome players of all ages and genders with open arms.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Providing free, sustainable period care is a crucial step toward normalising conversations about menstruation and ensuring that periods don\u2019t become a barrier to access.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
