Sports facilities at Grange Gardens in Grangetown are set to undergo a major transformation. The Cymru Football Foundation is proud to reveal the first ever Cwrt Cymru<\/strong> – a brand-new concept designed to re-invent recreational football facilities in communities across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project will see the complete renovation of the site\u2019s existing small\u2011sided 3G pitch, replacing it with a modern, durable playing surface and enhanced features that support year\u2011round, inclusive activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cwrt Cymru model has been developed to bridge the gap between structured club football and informal play, creating high\u2011quality, accessible spaces where people of all ages can enjoy the game. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upgraded facility in Grange Gardens will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 <\/strong>A new high\u2011performance 4G surface<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 <\/strong>Updated rebound fencing and kick boards<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 <\/strong>Improved lighting and security<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 <\/strong>A clean, open design for recreational use<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aled Lewis, Director at the Cymru Football Foundation said: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re delighted that Grange Gardens has been chosen as the site of Wales\u2019 first Cwrt Cymru.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis investment will provide a high\u2011quality, inclusive space for young people, families and local groups, helping to remove barriers to participation and support healthier, more active communities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis concept are about bringing football back to the heart of communities. This first installation will set the standard for future sites across Wales and ensure more people can enjoy the game in a safe, modern, and engaging environment.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDiolch yn fawr to UK Government and the Premier League for their continued support \u2013 together we\u2019re bringing Cymru closer to the game on and off the pitch.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks and Events, Cllr Jennifer Burke, said: <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to get as many people as possible playing football and enjoying all the health and wellbeing benefits that come with it.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
