Cambrian Village Trust applied to the Cymru Football Foundation’s Sustainability Fund as they were spending over \u00a317,000 per year on energy costs – an equivalent of 40.86 tonnes of carbon emissions. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The site at Cwmclydach Country Park hosts a number of activities for the community – including health and wellbeing initiatives, outdoor learning opportunities and activities for all ages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Initially set up in 2001 to offer football opportunities to children in the local area – the Trust now acts as a hub for a number of residents in the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CFF – through support from Sport Wales – have been able to support CBT to fulfil their commitment of becoming more environmentally friendly through the investment of just over \u00a317,000 in solar panels and EV charging points as an option when looking to utilise any excess energy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through conversations with Severn Wye Energy – these additions have the potential to save almost \u00a33,000 per year and provide carbon net-zero opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“As an organisation Cambrian continually strives to seek improvements to help our sustainability and our carbon footprint. Cambrian has the environment within its aims and objectives as a key element and we strive to develop these key areas as we look to become energy self-sufficient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The support from CFF has helped us further develop these targets, and we will continually strive to meet our end goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CFF’s partnership with Sport Wales has been football clubs in Wales to become more environmentally friendly. We’ve invested over \u00a3300k into over 20 projects that range from the installation of solar panels to upgrading heating and water infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
