The 2024\/25 JD Cymru South Team of the Season has been announced ahead of the FAW National League Awards on Saturday 7 June. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Representatives from across the league were invited to select a best XI, before all submissions were compiled into the Team of the Season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Llanelli Town and Trethomas Bluebirds who were involved in a title race until the penultimate game of the season and have three players included each. Newport City have two players, whilst there is also representation from Caerau Ely, Carmarthen Town and Cambrian United.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Cymru South 2024\/25 Team of the Season<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

GK – Harry Irving (Trethomas Bluebirds)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner of the Golden Glove with 11 clean sheets in 30 games. Irving was first choice at Trethomas, and that saw Cameron Clarke depart for Pontypridd United, and in the end he ended up beating him and Morgan Davies who had one fewer clean sheet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

RB – Richard Noyes (Newport City)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experienced Noyes played a solid role in Newport City’s first season back in the second tier since 2004. He ended up missing just one league game and produced an impressive 15 assists in 29 matches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CB – Luke Cooper (Newport City)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Barry Town United defender donned the captain’s armband on many occasion for Newport. Using his presence, he was able to get five goals, whilst being a part of a defence which kept eight clean sheets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CB – Kyle Jones (Cambrian United)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cambrian United captain was part of a side which finished in the top six and reached a JD Welsh Cup semi-final. In the 26 league matches that he played in, Cambrian didn’t concede in 11 of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LB – George Sheppard (Caerau Ely)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite being involved in a relegation battle for the majority of the season, Sheppard was able to shine in a team at the wrong end of the table. The 19-year-old showed maturity beyond his years and was involved in every match-day squad for the league season, getting three assists and a goal in the 29 appearances that he made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM – Thomas Gameson (Trethomas Bluebirds)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 26-year-old started the season well with two assists in the opening three matches against Llantwit Major and Ammanford. He only missed two games and was an influential figure for Trethomas in the centre of the park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM – Joe Lloyd (Llanelli Town)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Llanelli Town midfielder had a record of three goals and four assists in 27 matches, missing only three games which were due to suspension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM – Theo Wharton (Llanelli Town)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In September, the 30-year-old was playing in the CONCACAF Nations League for Saint Kitts and Nevis, and from then he has gone on to play a key part in the Reds’ title success. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

RW – Liam Eason (Llanelli Town)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eason’s season began at Pontypridd United, scoring 16 goals in 17 games for the Dragons. In the January transfer window he swapped the USW Sport Park for Stebonheath Park, and it would prove to be a wise decision. The 27-year-old notched up 11 goals and four assists in 12 games, including the equaliser against Cambrian United which clinched the title. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ST – Gareth Tedstone (Trethomas Bluebirds)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The towering striker was a presence in Trethomas’ front line and was a handful for opposition defences. After scoring five goals in the first four games of the season, the 33-year-old finished with a tally of 16 goals in 24 matches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

LW – Noah Daley (Carmarthen Town)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite only being 23, Mark Aizlewood was happy to give the talisman the captaincy at Richmond Park. Daley has been able to deal with that pressure by being consistent with his performances, scoring 24 goals in 28 games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
