The new JD Cymru Leagues season is little over a week away and there has been a flurry of activity across the divisions in preparation for the campaign. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Cymru Premier<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Caleb Demery has completed a dream move from Briton Ferry Llansawel to boyhood club Swansea City. The 19-year-old, who helped the Reds win the FAW Youth Cup in 2023\/24, scored five goals in 21 JD Cymru Premier appearances last season and now links up with the Swans’ academy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Llanelli Town boss Lee John has backed new signing Alex Bonthron to make an impact for the Reds this season. The striker won the JD Cymru South Golden Boot in 2023\/24 with Cwmbran Celtic, before scoring 26 goals for Cinderford Town last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHe\u2019s one of the most natural goal scorers I’ve seen over recent years and what\u2019s impressed me even more is his desire to succeed in the Cymru Premier,” John said. “He\u2019s had offers from both England and the Cymru South, but he\u2019s determined to prove himself at the highest level in Wales.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Llanelli have also announced the signing of Sam Parsons, who returns following three seasons with Carmarthen Town, along with experienced goalkeeper Mike Lewis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Connah\u2019s Quay Nomads boss John Disney was encouraged by his side\u2019s 2-1 friendly victory over Newtown on Tuesday night: \u201cThey\u2019re ahead of us by a number of weeks but it was a really good workout. I\u2019m really happy with the night\u2019s gone, I want to make sure we\u2019re winning games and it\u2019s really positive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

24-year-old midfielder Abdi Sharif is the latest player to put pen-to-paper as the Nomads transition into a hybrid training model. Sharif, formerly of Liverpool and Wigan Athletic, became the first Somali-born player to play in the EFL Championship when he featured for the Latics against Rotherham United. He also briefly featured for Aberystwyth Town last season, making 10 appearances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Penybont trio Billy Borge, Nathan Wood, and Kane Owen were caught \u2018blue-handed\u2019 as they took time out from their side\u2019s European preparations to help deliver local football sessions in partnership with South Wales Police at Coity Primary School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connor Roberts’ retirement was short lived as he has signed for Caernarfon Town<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Former The New Saints goalkeeper Connor Roberts has been tempted out of his brief retirement to join Caernarfon Town, while Bala Town have confirmed the return of Egyptian forward Hussein Mehasseb and the signing of Harry Dean from Wrexham. Former Lakesider Louis Robles has put pen-to-paper with newly promoted Colwyn Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Cymru North<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Guilsfield have confirmed the signing of striker Sam Flory, in a move first-team manager Gavin Allen has described as \u2018a coup\u2019 for the club. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been tracking him for some time, so we\u2019re delighted to have secured his signature. He\u2019s a proven goalscorer with excellent aerial ability and valuable experience, so it\u2019s a real coup to bring him on board,\u201d said a delighted Allen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Guils have also announced a new stadium naminging sponsorship agreement that will see their Clos Mytton home rebranded as the PRS Recruitment Stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caersws skipper Harry Cottam says new boss Craig Williams is making a positive impact during his first pre-season in charge of the Bluebirds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking after the side\u2019s friendly victory over Aberystwyth Town, Cottam explained: \u201cHe\u2019s doing really well to be fair to him. We all knew him anyway and what sort of person he was and he\u2019s come in and put his own stamp on things. We\u2019ve had a few meetings about what we need to do and we\u2019re slowly implementing them.We ended last season on a fairly good season and hopefully we can extend that into this season.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elsewhere around the league, defender Billy Nicholas has joined Gresford Athletic following two seasons with Llandudno, Mold Alexandra have signed veteran midfielder Luke Edwards, full-back Callum Graves has joined Holyhead Hotspur and Rhyl 1879 have added attacking midfielder James Farr to their squad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Cymru South<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Newport City continued to bolster their squad for the new season with the high-profile signings of ex-Barry Town United strikers Kayne Mclaggon and Nat Jarvis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mclaggon departed Jenner Park earlier this summer having made almost 250 appearances for the club but says he\u2019s quickly settled with the Steelmen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It\u2019s good to be here, it\u2019s a growing club,\u201d he said. \u201cI saw how well they did towards the end of last season and it\u2019s a good time to be joining. I know a lot of people here, the staff have been great and welcoming. I\u2019ve played with five or six of the players at Barry and it’s a place I\u2019m comfortable with already and hopefully I\u2019ll bed in quickly. I spent too much time not playing last season and you want to start as many games as you can.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club have also confirmed the arrivals of Clayton Farrah, Eduardo Bregua and Charlie Davies over the past week.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afan Lido have announced the double signing of Jordan Langley and Lewis Reed, who leaves Ammanford following two highly successful seasons. Reed scored 46 goals in 70 outings before making the decision to leave the Recreation Ground.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
