After some frustrating performances in Europe, the Northern Irishman finally found the net in the Nathaniel MG Cup last weekend. Ken Charles\u2019 arrival in attack has seen Zack Clarke return to Caernarfon Town on loan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Penybont<\/strong>&nbsp;were TNS\u2019 closest challengers last year \u2013 beating the Saints twice in league fixtures \u2013 and led the table until New Year\u2019s Eve. Tony Pennock\u2019s side also had the best defence in the division, conceding just 26 goals in 32 games.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, that has resulted in a raid of the Bluebirds\u2019 backline this summer. Iwan Lewis, Osebi Abadaki, Kyle Harrison and Dom Smith also bring plenty of JD Cymru Premier experience and former Cymru U18 international Connor Evans scored four minutes into his debut in the <a href=\"https:\/\/faw.cymru\/nathaniel-mg-cup\/\">Nathaniel MG Cup<\/a> last weekend.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following a disappointing eighth-place finish last season, a new era begins at&nbsp;<strong>Connah\u2019s Quay Nomads<\/strong>&nbsp;as former captain John Disney \u2013 who made over 300 appearances for the club as a player \u2013 takes the reigns. It is also a boost to see Harry Franklin back at the club after the forward spent a year with Crusaders in the Northern Irish Premiership. The 2024\/25 JD Cymru Premier Player of the Season Rhys Hughes is likely to star again in midfield.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nomads will head to newly-promoted&nbsp;<strong>Colwyn Bay<\/strong>&nbsp;on the opening day, as Disney comes up against his former teammate Michael Wilde. Fellow new arrivals Rio Booth, Jordan Vickers and Tristan Jenkins have also impressed in the second tier in recent years, while Mike Lewis, Harrison Bright and Josh Yorwerth all add top-flight experience to Lee John\u2019s squad.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It will be strange not to see Colin Caton in the&nbsp;<strong>Bala Town<\/strong>&nbsp;dugout this season, after <a href=\"https:\/\/faw.cymru\/cymru-leagues\/news\/colin-caton-departs-bala-town\/\">he called time on his 22-year reign<\/a> as manager in June.
