September begins with an enticing weekend across the JD Cymru Leagues. Here are the key fixtures to keep an eye on. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Cymru Premier \u2013 Cardiff Met v Colwyn Bay (Saturday, 12:30pm)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff Met and Colwyn Bay meet at Cyncoed Campus on Saturday afternoon, with both sides still searching for their first league wins of the season.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Met drew their first four matches of the JD Cymru Premier campaign, but their unbeaten start came to an end last weekend with a 4-2 defeat away at Flint Town United. After the loss, Archers manager Ryan Jenkins said his side \u201cwere very soft\u201d and \u201cneeded to take a hard look at themselves\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following promotion from the JD Cymru North, Colwyn Bay have also drawn four of their first five league matches \u2013 two stalemates either side of a 1-0 defeat to Bala Town. The Seagulls twice came from behind to earn a 2-2 draw at home against Briton Ferry Llansawel last weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bay won the first ever fixture between the sides when they met in the JD Welsh Cup in 2021, but Met have since gone three games unbeaten against the Seagulls. Sam Jones bagged a brace in the most recent encounter, a 3-2 JD Welsh Cup win in February 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Cymru North \u2013 Llandudno v Newtown (Saturday, 2:30pm)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two of the JD Cymru North\u2019s unbeaten sides go head-to-head at the Go Goodwins Stadium on Saturday afternoon as Llandudno host Newtown. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both sides sit on 13 points after the first five matches of the campaign, while this fixture comes just a week on from their meeting in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup when Newtown progressed on penalties following a 1-1 draw in 90 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Llandudno are the only side in the JD Cymru North yet to concede a goal this season, while the Seasiders won 4-0 against Gresford Athletic in their last league outing. Meanwhile, Newtown scored late to earn a 2-1 derby victory over Caersws as their strong start to life in the second tier continued. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Robins are unbeaten in their last six competitive meetings with Llandudno. The most recent league fixture between the teams saw the Powys side win 3-1 in the JD Cymru Premier in 2018\/19. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

JD Cymru South \u2013 Ammanford v Caerau Ely (Friday, 7:30pm)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another pair of unbeaten records are also put on the line in the JD Cymru South on Friday night as Ammanford host Caerau Ely. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ammanford have taken 11 points from a possible 15 so far, while only conceding one goal \u2013 a penalty against Llantwit Major \u2013 to sit third in the table. Wyn Thomas\u2019 side also progressed in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup last weekend courtesy of a 1-0 win away at Trefelin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fourth-place Caerau Ely triumphed 2-0 at home to Pontypridd United in their last league fixture to make it 10 points from four matches. However, Dean Wheeler\u2019s side were beaten 3-2 at home by Treowen Stars in the Welsh Blood Service League Cup last weekend. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
