Ammanford ensured that they will end 2025 inside the JD Cymru South top three as they earned a dramatic 1-0 win away at Carmarthen Town in stoppage time on Boxing Day. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carmarthen goalkeeper Lee Idzi made a series of impressive saves to keep the contest goalless, but he was finally beaten in the 96th<\/sup> minute when Ammanford substitute Alex Giardelli \u2013 who spent two months at Carmarthen earlier in the season \u2013 finished from close range. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His goal meant that Ammanford became the first away team to win a league game at the LHP Stadium since November 2024 \u2013 ending the Old Gold\u2019s 17-match unbeaten run at home in the JD Cymru South. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

League leaders Cambrian United made it three consecutive league wins as they triumphed 3-1 away at Rhondda rivals Ynyshir Albions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dylan Edwards scored the opener for Cambrian after just eight minutes, but Ynyshir hit back just four minutes later as Christen Bethell found an equaliser. Jarrad Wright netted shortly before half-time to restore the visitors\u2019 advantage, before Jay Woodford\u2019s goal nine minutes into the second half made sure of the three points. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second-place Trefelin earned their fifth consecutive league win, and an eighth consecutive league clean sheet, by triumphing 3-0 over Caerau Ely at Ynys Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Centre-back duo Joseph Jones and Louis Caramella-Gerrard both netted in the first half, the latter scoring his first goal for the club, before Jasper Jones sealed victory soon after the break. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy Hill\u2019s side remain eight points behind Cambrian in the league table, but still have three games in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aberystwyth Town returned to winning ways as Rackeem Reid\u2019s late goal secured a 1-0 victory away at Pontypridd United. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a game of few chances at USW Sports Park, but the Seasiders claimed a crucial three points in the 89th<\/sup>minute when Jonathan Evans crossed for Reid to head home his second goal in three games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aber remain five points adrift of the promotion spots, as do Cardiff Draconians following their 2-0 home win over Llantwit Major. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In-form Sam Cawley bagged the opening goal in the 17th<\/sup> minute in the capital, before turning provider in the second half as he set up Oscar Raisbeck to score on only his second appearance in the JD Cymru South. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treowen Stars made it three consecutive league wins and clean sheets by triumphing 2-0 over Trethomas Bluebirds at Bush Park. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following a goalless first half, Tom Meechan broke the deadlock inside the first minute of the second period before Carter Campbell doubled the Stars\u2019 advantage soon after. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baglan Dragons climbed up to 11th<\/sup> in the table with a 3-1 home win over neighbours Afan Lido. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andzejs Dubjaga opened the scoring for the Dragons inside just nine minutes before Liam Griffiths equalised shortly after the half hour mark. Lido were not level for long though, as former Latvia U17 international Dubjaga scored twice more before half-time to complete a hat-trick on what was only his second start for Baglan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Saturday\u2019s only fixture saw Newport City and Cwmbran Celtic play out a 2-2 draw in the Gwent derby at Newport Stadium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following Rhys Kavanagh\u2019s opener for Newport, Celtic turned the game around courtesy of Lathan Garrett\u2019s own goal shortly before half-time and a penalty from Mario van Dieren early in the second period. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the bottom-of-the-table visitors were denied their first win of the campaign as Kyran Steadman finished from close range in the 74th<\/sup> minute to level the contest. Newport are up to sixth in the table, five points behind the promotion spots, while Celtic are eight points adrift of safety. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
