Cambrian United maintained their eight-point lead at the top of the JD Cymru South with a 2-0 victory over Cardiff Draconians at Lydstep Park on Saturday afternoon. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both sides created several opportunities throughout the contest, but it took 71 minutes for the breakthrough in the capital as Dylan Edwards fired home his third goal in four league games to put the visitors ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cam Strinati netted his first goal of the season in stoppage time to secure victory for Liam Williams\u2019 side, who are now unbeaten in their last nine league matches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s 14 league games unbeaten and seven wins in a row for second-place Trefelin, who came from behind to triumph 3-1 over Trethomas Bluebirds at Ynys Park on Friday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bluebirds had two efforts cleared off the line early in the contest, but eventually found the opener on the half-hour mark thanks to Joe Shephard\u2019s first JD Cymru South goal in almost four years \u2013 it was also the first goal that Trefelin had conceded in the league since the beginning of September. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Tref came flying out the blocks in the second half and levelled the scoreline four minutes after the restart as Jasper Jones\u2019 headed home from Callum Saunders\u2019 corner.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Substitute Roan Piper completed the turnaround shortly after the hour mark before Jasper Jones secured all three points in stoppage time with his second of the evening. Andy Hill\u2019s side are eight points behind leaders Cambrian United, but have three games in hand.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Third-place Ammanford made it four consecutive wins and clean sheets with a 3-0 win away at Pontypridd United on Friday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Callum Thomas gave Ammanford the lead inside just eight minutes as he tucked away the rebound from Dan John\u2019s effort which struck the post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas\u2019 finish remained the difference for over an hour, but youngster Owain Davies gave the visitors daylight when he bagged his first goal for the club from close range on 73 minutes. Morgan Clarke finished from Dan John\u2019s square-ball late on to wrap up victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ammanford are now six points clear of fourth-place Caerau Ely, who were held to a 1-1 draw away at Newport City on Friday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kayne Mclaggon tapped in from Rhys Kavanagh\u2019s cross to put the Steelmen ahead after just 11 minutes played, while Harvey Sing nearly almost doubled the lead before half-time but his looping effort was denied by the crossbar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caerau made their early second half pressure count as Dan Griffiths met Hywel Davies\u2019 low cross and fired home to make it one apiece just before the hour mark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bottom of the table Cwmbran Celtic fought back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw away at Carmarthen Town on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carmarthen forward Liam Thomas rounded Lewis Watkins and rolled the ball home six minutes before half-time to put his side ahead at the break, before Keyon Reffell then doubled the lead five minutes after the restart with a clinical low finish into the bottom corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hosts were seemingly in control of the contest, but Celtic pulled a goal back through Josh Hinwood on 72 minutes before he turned provider to set up captain Andy Larcombe to equalise in stoppage time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seventh-place Carmarthen now sit 10 points behind the promotion spots, while Celtic are seven points adrift of safety but with a game in hand on the three teams above them.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
