Trefelin confirmed their place in the JD Cymru South top three with an impressive 4-0 victory over Aberystwyth Town at Ynys Park on Saturday.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy Hill\u2019s side took just five minutes to find the breakthrough as Zach Mackenzie\u2019s foul on Lewys Ware inside the area allowed Tyler Brock to convert from the penalty spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aberystwyth were reduced to 10 men early in the second half when teenager Leo Thompson was shown a straight red card for his challenge on Jasper Jones, with Trefelin making the most of their numerical advantage as substitute Luke Bowen doubled their lead on 66 minutes by tapping home the rebound after his penalty was saved by La\u2019trell Jones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bowen turned provider for Kostya Georgievsky to fire home from close range to make it three in the 77th minute before the veteran forward made no mistake from the penalty spot the second time late on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As well as securing a top three spot \u2013 which will bring promotion to the JD Cymru Premier if they achieve a Tier 1 licence \u2013 Trefelin are also now six points clear at the top of the JD Cymru South table after second-place Cambrian United were held to a 2-2 draw by Treowen Stars at Bush Park on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gavin Meacham put the Stars ahead in the 63rd minute with his first goal since September, but Cambrian duo Jack Fox and Camillo Strinati found the net to complete a quickfire turnaround. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, Meacham set up fellow defender Steffan Roberts with four minutes remaining to rescue a point. Cambrian defender Taylor Jones was sent off for a second bookable offence in stoppage time as the Rhondda side dropped points for the first time in nine league games. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ynyshir Albions eased their relegation nerves with a vital 3-1 victory over bottom-of-the-table Cwmbran Celtic at Avondale Park on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jorrie Griffiths gave Ynyshir the lead inside just five minutes, but Celtic quickly hit back through teenager Efan Fletcher\u2019s first ever senior goal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The match remained all square until the 72nd minute when Griffiths\u2019 second goal of the evening restored the Buns\u2019 lead. Chris Bethell then struck with his first goal since Boxing Day to seal victory for the visitors, who are now 12 points clear of winless Celtic \u2013 who do have three games in hand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alex Giardelli scored a late penalty as third-place Ammanford secured a 2-1 win over Cardiff Draconians at the Rec on Friday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Callum Thomas put Ammanford in front 10 minutes before half-time with a clinical low finish from Gavin Jones\u2019 flick-on. Thomas nearly had a brace on 56 minutes, but his deflected effort was tipped onto the crossbar by Harry Johnson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dracs levelled the contest on the hour mark thanks to Marinho Manga\u2019s first goal since November and Luke Davies almost completed the turnaround for Nana Baah\u2019s side with 10 minutes to play, but his free-kick was denied by the crossbar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, despite that scare, Ammanford substitute Giardelli converted from the penalty spot just four minutes after coming onto the pitch to seal a narrow victory and keep his side inside the top three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toby Jones netted a dramatic stoppage-time winner as Carmarthen Town earned a thrilling 5-4 victory over Trethomas Bluebirds at the CCB Centre on Friday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carmarthen were awarded a penalty in the 29th minute as Trethomas defender Alex Newman-Jones denied Lewis Reed a clear goalscoring opportunity and was shown a straight red card as a result. Liam Thomas stepped up to score from the spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lewis Harling produced a clinical finish from close range to double Carmarthen\u2019s lead soon after, but the Bluebirds pulled a goal back five minutes before half-time as Jack Shaw rounded Lee Idzi and slotted home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Idzi was shown a straight red card early in the second half as Carmarthen were also reduced to 10 men. Bluebirds forward Jonathan Hood stood over the resulting free-kick and saw his effort deflect off the Carmarthen wall and into the net before Ben Keen headed home his first goal of the season to put the hosts in front for the first time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas scored from the penalty spot once again to make it three apiece, but the Bluebirds quickly restored their lead through Jay Thomas\u2019 composed finish at the near post. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carmarthen were not backing down though as Lewis Reed made it 4-4 in the 90th minute by tucking away the rebound from Luke Cummings\u2019 shot which rattled the crossbar. Substitute Jones then popped up with the winner in the fourth minute of stoppage time by heading home Noah Osborne\u2019s cross. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fourth-place Caerau Ely remain just a point behind the promotion places following their 4-1 win over Afan Lido at Cyncoed Stadium on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liam Bishop netted his third goal in two games to open the scoring for Caerau on 22 minutes before he set up Luke Gullick to double the advantage just two minutes into the second half. Lido\u2019s woes increased when Cory Woods was shown a straight red card soon after. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jack Pascoe\u2019s first ever JD Cymru South goal and a late own goal from Callum Jones gave the Young Guns clear daylight, before Jones bagged a late consolation for Lido late on. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Llantwit Major earned their biggest league win for almost two years with an impressive 4-0 victory over Pontypridd United at USW Sports Park on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The match remained goalless for over an hour, but Jack Bevan met crosses from Connor Goldsworthy and Kofi Rowe and finished clinically to bag a quickfire brace and put Major in control. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Substitute Josh Jones also scored twice, slotting home into the bottom corner on both occasions, as Llantwit sealed all three points which lifted them into the top half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baglan Dragons ended their seven-match winless run in all competitions with a 2-1 triumph away at Newport City on Friday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ellis Sage gave Newport the lead after just seven minutes played, but the Dragons were level by the 20th minute as a foul on Tom Davies inside the area allowed Artiom Legavec to convert from the penalty spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andzejs Dubjaga completed the comeback for the Dragons just before the hour mark with a deft finish over Ed King, which proved enough to give Carl Clement\u2019s side just their second away win of the league campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
