Bala\u00a0were\u00a0gifted the lead after just 11 minutes played in south Wales as a mistimed header from Jamie Baker allowed in-form striker Cameron Ferguson to pick up the pieces and send a clinical effort beyond Alex Pennock for his fourth goal in four games.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lakesiders doubled their advantage on 26 minutes as captain Ross White met Sam Billington\u2019s corner at the back post and dropped his header into the net from close range for his first competitive goal since September 2024.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was no let up from the visitors, who established a four-goal lead within the first 10 minutes of the second half as Jacob Tarasenko met Lassana Mendes\u2019 and steered home his half volley before Billington controlled a loose ball on the edge of the area and sent a stunning strike into the top corner, leaving Pennock no chance of the save.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarasenko grabbed his second of the afternoon late on as Charlie Fisher – son of manager Steve Fisher – played a pinpoint diagonal ball over to the Australian, who slotted home when one-on-one with Pennock.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decisive moment in Flintshire arrived on the stroke of half-time as Corey Shephard intercepted Jack Thorn\u2019s pass and slipped through Ben Ahmun, who shaped himself onto his left foot and finished into the bottom corner from close range for his 12th league goal of the season.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flint pushed for an equaliser in the second half, but Elliott Reeves and Ben Woollam were unable to hit the target with their free headers. Darren Stephenson went closest for the home side when his looping header clipped the post, but despite their pressure, the Silkmen went home empty handed.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A mistake from Nomads defender Dan Roberts allowed Rory Holden to retrieve a loose ball and play through Jordan Williams, who slotted home his 26th league goal of the season to open the scoring. Connah\u2019s Quay found a lifeline late on as Somalian international Abdi Sharif fired home at the back post for his first ever Nomads goal. A staggering 2,357 fans were up in north Wales to watch this fixture as it achieved the fifth-highest attendance in JD Cymru Premier history, and the occasion certainly did not disappoint.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy Dyer\u2019s side have hit form at the right time, but it may be too late for them to secure a Play-Off spot as they will need to win away to Bala Town on the final day and hope current Play-Off Conference leaders Haverfordwest County lose at home to already-relegated Llanelli Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
