Ammanford have secured promotion to the JD Cymru Premier following a 2-1 win away at Cwmbran Celtic on the final day of the JD Cymru South season. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knowing that victory would secure third place ahead of challengers Caerau Ely, Ammanford came from behind to triumph 2-1 at Avondale Motor Park Arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a historic day for the Carmarthenshire side, who will play top-flight football for the first time in their history next season under the guidance of manager Wyn Thomas – who has the second-most appearances in JD Cymru Premier history as a player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

20-year-old Dan John has starred with 18 goals during his loan spell from Cardiff Met, while at the other end of their careers long-serving duo Euros Griffiths and Matthew Fisher complete a remarkable journey with the club having represented The Town in the fourth tier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ammanford complete the set of six clubs – alongside Airbus UK Broughton, Cambrian United, Holywell Town, Llandudno and Trefelin – who earn promotion to the JD Cymru Premier as it transitions to a 16-team format in 2026\/27<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
