Voting is now open for the 2023\/24 JD Cymru South awards. You have until 5pm on Monday 20 May to select your Player of the Season, Manager of the Season and Young Player of the Season.<\/strong>  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Votes will be combined with an independent panel and the winners will be announced at the FAW National Leagues Awards on Saturday 8 June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Player of the Season<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Alex Bonthron – Cwmbran Celtic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s quite simply been a sensational season for Cwmbran Celtic\u2019s Alex Bonthron. 30 goals and ten assists in 28 games is an amazing tally for a Celtic team who finished in mid-table. There have been plenty of moments for Bonthorn to cherish too. Four goals against Abergavenny Town and a goal and two assists against Llanelli Town perhaps the standouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke Bowen – Briton Ferry Llansawel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While he may be entering the twilight of his career, Luke Bowen certainly isn\u2019t slowing down yet! His 29 goals this season helped to propel Briton Ferry to the top of the JD Cymru South and to promotion. Towards the end of the season, Bowen scored four goals against Ammanford to clinch the title, followed by a hat-trick against Llanelli Town: a great achievement for any striker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tristan Jenkins – Ammanford<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ammanford recorded their best finish in many a season this year, and a key figure in their push towards the top has been Tristan Jenkins. The winger has been everywhere this season, and with 13 goals and seven assists, he\u2019s certainly helped Ammanford reach new heights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manager of the Season<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Andy Dyer – Briton Ferry Llansawel<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Andy Dyer has done a magnificent job of taking Briton Ferry Llansawel to the JD Cymru Premier for the first time in their history. When Ferry lost back-to-back games to Cambrian and Clydach and Ammanford, promotion was on the brink. However, Dyer rallied the troops and led them to eight wins in their final nine to secure a fairytale ending.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gruff Harrison – Ammanford<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gruff Harrison has been in charge for some incredible results this season at The Rec. A victory against table toppers Briton Ferry, a last-minute comeback against rivals Llanelli Town, a 7-0 triumph over Abertillery Bluebirds. There have been so many moments for Ammanford fans to cherish, and Harrison has helped create a lot of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dean Wheeler – Caerau Ely<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A promoted side who have done incredibly well this season has been Dean Wheeler\u2019s Caerau Ely. The Young Guns started on shaky ground, losing four of their opening five games, but under the guidance of Wheeler bounced back superbly. They only lost one of their last 13 games to secure a fifth-place finish in the Cymru South, an achievement not many thought was possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Young Player of the Season<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ethan Cann – Llanelli Town<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ethan Cann has certainly had a memorable campaign after signing for Llanelli Town from Taffs Well last summer. His 15 goals helped to push his team to a second-place finish in the Cymru South, but it also earned him a spot in Mark Jones\u2019 Cymru C squad, the only player in the second tier to be called up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ieuan Owen – Afan Lido<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For 17-year-old Ieuan Owen, his season has been indescribable. Opening the season with a red card against Caerau Ely, Owen bounced back to score a sensational 15 goals this campaign. Braces against Trefelin and Pontardawe Town showed just what he could do, as he scored more goals than some players who are double his age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Roan Piper – Trefelin<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another young striker who has left his mark on the Cymru South this season has been Trefelin\u2019s Roan Piper. His 18 goals meant he finished fifth in the goalscoring charts. His four goals against Abertillery Bluebirds is certainly a highlight, as he and Trefelin secured an eleventh placed finish this season.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
