Penybont climbed to the top of the JD Cymru Premier table with an impressive 5-1 home win over Aberystwyth Town on Monday afternoon. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mael Davies arrived at the back post to head home Dan Jefferies\u2019 cross and open the scoring for Bont in the 13th<\/sup> minute, but Aber teenager Devon Torry slotted in his first top-flight goal to equalise just after the hour mark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Billy Borge headed the hosts back ahead three minutes before half-time, while summer arrival Owen Pritchard lashed home his first goal for the club from close range on 61 minutes to give them daylight. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liam Walsh\u2019s own goal in the 83rd<\/sup> minute all but assured Penybont of victory, but there was still time for substitute Chris Venables to score a trademark header from Keyon Reffell\u2019s cross \u2013 the veteran striker has now scored in 22 consecutive JD Cymru Premier campaigns. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connah\u2019s Quay Nomads got off to a winning start under new manager Billy Paynter as Rhys Hughes\u2019 strike earned a narrow 1-0 derby victory over Flint Town United. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only goal arrived in the 64th<\/sup> minute when teenage substitute Luca Hogan, who had only been on the pitch for four minutes, sent a low ball across the face of goal for Hughes to fire home into the bottom corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The former Cymru U21 international\u2019s first goal for the club was enough to earn the Nomads their first league win of the season, while Flint continue to go in search of their first point since promotion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aaron Williams scored both goals as Newtown came from behind to secure a 2-1 win away at Barry Town United. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barry took the lead inside the first 28 seconds of the match as Keenan Patten capitalised on a defensive mix-up and calmly slotted into the bottom corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the home side\u2019s lead only lasted nine minutes as Williams struck a superb volley into the back of the net via the post to open his account for the new campaign. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The striker completed the turnaround four minutes into the second half as his header from Jason Oswell\u2019s cross beat Liam Armstrong via the underside of the crossbar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barry had a glorious chance to level the contest when they were awarded a penalty in the 72nd<\/sup> minute, but Newtown goalkeeper Alex Swindell denied Ollie Hulbert from the spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff Met and Haverfordwest County both remain unbeaten after four league games following their 0-0 draw at Cyncoed Campus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The best chance of the match fell to in-form Bluebirds forward Ben Ahmun, whose header early in the second half crashed off the top of the crossbar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was also a goalless stalemate in the Gwynedd derby at The Oval between Caernarfon Town and Bala Town, who kept their third consecutive league clean sheet. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Cofis appealed for penalties in both halves for challenges on Morgan Owen and Marc Williams respectively, but nothing was given. Paulo Mendes and Louis Lloyd both had opportunities from close range, but Bala goalkeeper Joel Torrance produced crucial saves on both occasions to earn his side a hard-fought point away from home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
