October marks both Show Racism the Red Card Month of Action and Black History Month. Football Clubs across Wales and the Football Association of Wales (FAW) will be showing support for the Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) Month of Action (MOA) throughout the month.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Month of Action each year marks a pivotal point in the footballing calendar where education and awareness around racism within the game is further highlighted. The FAW and SRtRC recognise that sport can be used as a vehicle to deliver Anti-Racist messaging throughout communities across Wales, working toward a completely Anti-Racist Wales by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Month of Action is part of a wider programme funded by the FAW which will see Clubs across the country hosting match actions, with players of both teams uniting together to stand against racism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The JD Cymru Premier will hold its dedicated SRtRC weekend on the 4-5 October, with the JD Cymru North and JD Cymru South following suit on the 11-12 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

FAW Senior Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Sustainability Manager, Jason Webber said, \u201cThroughout the month of action and beyond, the FAW will continue to work with SRtRC and Ethnically Diverse Communities across Wales to work toward a more inclusive and welcoming environment in Football, where everyone, everywhere across Wales can feel they belong and are given equal and equitable opportunity to participate in the sport they love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAt the FAW we are aware that hateful and discriminatory attitudes which exist in society regrettably extend to football. The FAW recognises that we have a long way to go to become a truly reflective of all communities across Wales, both within our own organisation and across the game. Whilst the FAW has made significant strides in implementing new measures and educational programmes, we acknowledge that there is still much ground to cover before racism is fully eradicated from Welsh football.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
