Penybont opened up a five-point lead at the top of the JD Cymru Premier table with a 4-1 comeback victory over Barry Town United on Friday night. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bont were stunned when Harrison Bright gave Barry the lead five minutes before the break with his terrific curling strike from the left wing, but it did not take long for the league leaders to find a response as captain Kane Owen equalised seven minutes into the second half with a deflected strike from the edge of the box. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bont skipper was on target again to put his side ahead for the first time with a low drive into the bottom corner in the 78th<\/sup> minute, before Nathan Wood scored his first goal since his return to the club with a sensational strike from distance four minutes later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Venables made his return from injury off the bench and wrapped up the victory for the hosts with a composed finish into the bottom corner five minutes from time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haverfordwest County moved up to second place in the table with a 2-0 win away to Bala Town on Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bluebirds made the breakthrough seven minutes into the second half courtesy of Ben Fawcett\u2019s first league goal of the season, as the forward brilliantly turned away from the defender and unleashed an unstoppable strike past Joel Torrance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rhys Abbruzzese came off the bench in the 77th<\/sup> minute for his first appearance of the season and he found the scoresheet six minutes later, calmly slotting home from the edge of the box to clinch Haverfordwest\u2019s first victory against Bala for four years.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cardiff Met suffered back-to-back defeats for the first time this season as they were beaten 2-1 by Caernarfon Town at Cyncoed on Saturday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Archers made the perfect start to the contest as Lewis Rees\u2019 cross from the left found its way through a host of bodies and into the bottom corner after just three minutes, but Caernarfon equalised seven minutes before the break thanks to Louis Lloyd\u2019s looping header from Matty Jones\u2019 delivery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lloyd completed the turnaround on 56 minutes as he latched onto Zack Clarke\u2019s through ball and finished off a well-worked counter attack with a powerful strike into the bottom corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victory lifts the Cofis to fourth in the table, but both sides finished the game with 10 men after CJ Craven and Sam Downey were both shown straight red cards for an altercation in stoppage time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connah\u2019s Quay Nomads claimed their first win in six league games as they triumphed 3-0 over Aberystwyth Town at the Essity Stadium on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rico Patterson came agonisingly close to finding the breakthrough for Aber when his low drive was tipped onto the post by George Ratcliffe, but it was The Nomads who broke the deadlock in the 34th<\/sup> minute through Fumpa Mwandwe, who slammed the ball home after Chris Marriott\u2019s cross was not fully cleared. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jack Kenny doubled the lead just before half-time with a perfectly placed first time effort into the bottom corner, before substitute Elliott Dugan added a third goal with a close range finish in the 85th<\/sup> minute to clinch the Nomads\u2019 first home league of the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flint Town United earned a 4-2 win over Newtown at Latham Park on Friday to move five points above the relegation zone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was a fast start from the Silkmen as Izaack Lambert poked home from Jake Phillips\u2019 free-kick in the 10th<\/sup>minute, before Isaac Lee met Phillips\u2019 long throw with a flicked header to double the lead seven minutes later.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jason Oswell halved the deficit for Newtown by heading in Zeli Ismail\u2019s cross just before half-time, but Elliott Reeves restored Flint\u2019s two-goal cushion on 58 minutes as his fierce effort flew beyond Alex Swindell with help from the underside of the crossbar. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hosts would not relent though and were back in the game again in the 77th<\/sup> minute thanks to a superb free-kick from Ismail, but Flint clinched the win with two minutes remaining when Josh Jones\u2019 low strike crept past Swindell into the bottom corner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following their trip to Fiorentina on Thursday, The New Saints made the journey to rather different surroundings at Briton Ferry on Sunday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, with just 15 minutes played and the rain pouring down, referee Bryn Markham-Jones abandoned the match due to a waterlogged pitch. A new date for the fixture will be announced in due course.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
