This February, Football v Homophobia (FvH) will mark its 15th annual Month of Action. During what is also LGBT+ History Month, the Football Association of Wales (FAW) will continue its imperative support of FvH in a stand against all forms of anti-LGBT+ discrimination, to ensure football truly is a game for all.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FvH initiative unities football in opposing homophobia and prejudice against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT+) people in football, whilst celebrating and welcoming diversity across the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the FvH Month of Action the FAW encourages all Clubs to sign up to receive the FvH resource pack, dedicate a fixture in support of FvH, whilst continuing to highlight a welcoming environment for all at their Club. Clubs can learn how to at:\u00a0http:\/\/www.footballvhomophobia.com\/grassroots\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FvH will be offering a number of opportunities throughout the Month of Action for Clubs across Wales to continue to improve their education in this area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Wednesday the 7th<\/sup>\u00a0of February the FAW will be joining FvH to host a free online workshop for FAW Clubs, titled \u2018Allies United\u2019. Taking place from 19:00, the initiative will offer advice on how Clubs can support LGBTQ+ players and supporters. The FvH Month of Action also offers the opportunity to celebrate with the\u00a0Football v <\/a>Homophobia<\/a> Awards<\/a>\u00a0set to take place on February 23rd<\/sup>. This year sees 4 fantastic nominations for individuals and Clubs across Wales. This includes Cardiff Dragons, Conwy Borough, and player-manager of the Cardiff Dragons, Brandon Gregory all being nominated for the \u2018FvH Cymru Award\u2019, in addition to The Rainbow Wall\u2019s co-chair Tracy Brown being nominated for the \u2018FvH Hero Award\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FAW will continue to use its platform to highlight LGBT+ challenges and barriers across the game, in addition to working toward a future where everyone, everywhere in Wales feels as though they belong in the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
