Match Day Travel

The FAW encourages all fans to embrace sustainable travel options when heading to the match, from public transport to carpooling or cycling. Together, we can reduce our environmental impact.

The Cardiff City Stadium is accessible on foot and is a 30 minute walk from the city centre.

It is also connected from the city centre by bus and rail, with train links from Cardiff Central Station to local stations, Ninian Park and Grangetown. The Cardiff Bus 95 service will take you to the stadium from Cardiff Bus interchange. 

Please note these services may be extremely busy on match day.

Parking is available to supporters at the Cardiff City Stadium on a first come, first serve basis and costs £10. The car park will shut 1 hour before kick-off or whenever the car park is full.

There are a limited number of accessible bays available at the stadium. Supporters wishing to book accessible bays should call the Cardiff City Stadium ticket office directly on 03333 111 920. 

Coach parking at the stadium is free of charge providing you have let the stadium know that you are coming; please contact fans@faw.cymru to book a coach space.

Entertainment at the stadium commences from the time that the gates open at 5:45pm and there’s plenty on offer to get you ready for kick off.

Bucket Collectors from DEC Cymru Middle East Appeal will be present outside the stadium on matchday.

DEC Cymru are the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) branch in Wales. The DEC is a coalition of leading UK aid charities that come together to coordinate responses to major humanitarian crises caused by natural disasters, conflicts, or other emergencies. DEC Cymru represents this coalition in Wales, helping to raise funds and awareness among Welsh communities.

The Cymru Tickets App and Mobile Tickets

If you’re going to the match, you’ll need to download and use the Cymru Tickets app to get in, unless you’ve specifically requested and paid to receive paper tickets.

The FAW are introducing the Cymru Tickets App for two key reasons:

  • To make our matches more sustainable

Food & Beverage

The Cardiff City Stadium has food and beverage options to suit all diets and culinary requirements. If you have any allergy concerns, please speak to a member of staff at the kiosk.

There are alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available to supporters, however please note that alcoholic beverages cannot be taken up to your seat or drunk in view of the field of play. This is in accordance with the UK Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985.

The Football Association of Wales welcomes everyone and we constantly strive to ensure that at our matches there is a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where all fans can come to enjoy watching football in a safe, secure and welcoming environment and feel that they belong as part of the Red Wall.

While promoting inclusion and diversity within the stadium, we applaud and encourage passionate support. However, we do not tolerate discrimination, abuse, foul and abusive language or anti-social and threatening behaviour. If supporters experience any form of anti-social behaviour, abuse or discrimination inside the stadium please help us to eliminate it and react immediately by reporting any discrimination or abuse by scanning the QR code published across the stadium and on the back of stadium seats and completing the online form or by texting ‘ISSUE’ confirming details of the incident to 07484 070 422.

Pyrotechnic Warning

There is no safe use of pyrotechnics in spectator areas at football events with their use having many health risks and dangers such as loss of sight, limb or digit removal due to their explosive power.

Being in possession of a pyrotechnic device at a football match or attempting to bring such a device into a football stadium, is a criminal offence under the Sporting Events Act 1985. Any person committing such an offence faces an FA Wales ban, probable arrest and a minimum 3-year Football Banning Order.  

Additionally, should persons be identified using pyrotechnics in places of public assembly away from and en route to the stadium, they can be issued with section 34 notices and be instructed to leave the area with details passed to the FAW, Cardiff City Stadium and the authorities. This may result in entry to the stadium being denied.

Accessibility and Inclusion Information

Audio Descriptive Commentary

The audio description commentary service will be available at the Cardiff City Stadium for the upcoming Cymru International match.  

The free-to-use service for blind and vision-impaired spectators will be provided by Alan March Sport Ltd and will be available to fans with trained audio describers keeping up with play to the second to ensure listeners know exactly where the ball is and what is happening on the pitch.

To register your interest and book a receiver for the forthcoming matches, email PAWB@FAW.Cymru

You will need to provide your name, phone number and ticket information (Stand, block, row and seat) and your receiver will be delivered by a steward prior to kick off.

It will be possible to request a receiver on the day by speaking to a steward at the stadium. Please note receivers are subject to availability. Users are required to bring their own headphones to ensure both comfort and hygiene.

Sensory Room and Packs

In addition to the stadium’s Sensory Room Experience, fans with sensory needs can apply for a free FAW Sensory Pack. The packs have been designed to help fans, particularly those with autism, who attend matches, to enhance the matchday experience, making it more comfortable and enjoyable. Each pack is presented in an official Cymru drawstring bag and contains a disability awareness lanyard, as well as branded noise-cancelling headphones, a football fidget spinner, a poppet sensory keyring, a Cymru football soft stress ball and an activity pack.

All sensory packs will need to be pre-booked and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Multi-Faith Prayer & Meditation Room

A Multi-Faith Prayer & Meditation Room is available to supporters who require a quiet space and is located on Level 2 of the Grandstand (near Gate 15).

Any supporters who would like to access the room can contact PAWB@FAW.Cymru or speak to your nearest steward on the night who will help to escort supporters to the room and assist them back to their seats.

Accessibility for Disabled Supporters

We understand and recognise that disabled supporters may need assistance when visiting the Cardiff City Stadium to enjoy their experience. Therefore, we offer a number of reasonable adjustments based on individual needs.

Wheelchair Users

The accessible areas are located in blocks 102, 110, 128 and 320 with a range of viewing options available. Please note that availability is limited.

Stadium entry will depend on your viewing location but all access is step-free with a lift available if located on an upper level.

The Cardiff City Stadium has seven accessible entrances. For Home supporters; Main Reception, Corporate Entrance 2, Gates 5, 7 and 10, and Corporate Entrance 16. For visiting supporters; Gate 12.

Powered wheelchairs and scooters can be used in all wheelchair-accessible spaces. Please advise our Ticket Office staff at the time of your purchase that you require a wheelchair space.

Ambulant Supporters

General match seating is available for Ambulant Disabled supporters in accessible areas of the Stadium.

We have a number of easy-access seats for supporters to use with no or minimal stepped access. These are close to accessible amenities and entrances.

Please advise the ticket office at the time of booking your match tickets.

Food concession stand access

Catering kiosks are found at regular intervals around the stadium. There is a lower counter facility at each kiosk.

The Cardiff City Stadium has induction loop equipment in the Stadium Ticket Office and Stadium Reception.

On match days at the Cardiff City Stadium, information is displayed on the stadium screens and announced via the Public Address System.

Supporters with Learning Difficulties

Supporters with learning difficulties can normally be accommodated within any area of the stadium.  If a person with a learning difficulty feels that seating in the stand may not be suitable for them, please contact the FAW’s Disabled Access Officer to discuss your requirements further.

Accessible Toilets

There are 24 accessible toilets throughout the Cardiff City Stadium. All accessible toilets can be accessed using a radar key. We do advise that supporters bring their own radar key when visiting us. If you do not have a radar key, please see your nearest steward who can arrange access.

A Changing Places facility is located on the third floor of the stadium and is available to all visitors who may need to use it. It has been placed near a raised wheelchair-accessible viewing area.

The Changing Places facility includes a height-adjustable adult-sized changing bench, mobile hoist, height-adjustable sink, a screen to allow some privacy as well as a wide tear-off paper roll to cover the bench. Please note the hoist is only compatible with a loop sling and supporters will need to bring this with them.

Accessible Parking

There are a limited number of accessible bays available at the stadium. Supporters wishing to book accessible bays should call the Cardiff City Stadium ticket office directly on 03333 111 920.

Drop Off Point

The Cardiff City Stadium has a drop-off point for any supporters requiring the use of this service.  We ask you to contact the Disabled Access Officer in advance of your visit so the Car Park Manager can be notified and the appropriate arrangements can be made.

Assistance Dogs

We welcome assistance dogs at the  Cardiff City Stadium. Familiarisation/orientation visits can be arranged via the Disability Access Officer (DAO). We can accommodate both home and away supporters with assistance dogs, away supporters will be seated amongst their own supporters.

Please make the ticket office aware at the time of booking if you would like to attend a match accompanied by an assistance dog.

Temporary Mobility Restrictions

Supporters suffering from temporary mobility restrictions (e.g. broken ankle) that could affect their access to the stadium or seating areas should contact the Disability Access Officer before the game to arrange alternative seating and/or access. Please note this is subject to availability.

FAQ

Is there a minimum age to attend the match?

There is no minimum age requirement for Welsh internationals matches at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Do underage ticket holders need to be accompanied by an adult?

Yes, all ticket holders under 14 should be accompanied by an adult.

How early should I get to the stadium before the match?

We advise that you arrive at the stadium as soon as gates open.

Can I use any entrance at the stadium to get to my seat?

Please use the entrance stated on your ticket. This will be the entrance closest to your seat.

If I’m late to the match, can I still enter after kick-off?

Yes, you will be able to enter the stadium up until half-time.

Once I enter the stadium, can I leave and come back in?

No re-entry is permitted at the Cardiff City Stadium.

What kind of flags and banners can I bring into the stadium?

Flags that are 2×1 meters in size will be allowed into the stadium, flags with offensive or political statements will not be permitted. Please see UEFA guidelines.

Are there restrictions on the jerseys I can wear for the match?

There are no restrictions on what you can wear, however we recommend that you come dressed in Cymru colours so that we are united as the Red Wall.

I need to bring an item from the prohibited list for medical reasons. Does it need to be requested in advance?

To avoid any complications at entry, it is advised that you let the FAW know if you require any medical items. Please email fans@faw.cymru detailing your medications.

What should I do if I have a problem with my mobile match tickets? Is there somewhere at the stadium that I can get help?

If you have a problem with your match tickets contact your nearest steward or go to the ticket office near gate 3.

Is there anything to do at the stadium for non-ticket holders?

No – please avoid travelling to the Cardiff City Stadium if you do not have a ticket to the match.

Is there a lost and found office at the stadium and what do I do if I lose or find something?

There is no formal lost and found, however lost items are sometimes kept in storage at the stadium – please contact the stadium.

Are there phone charging stations in or around the stadium in case my phone runs out of battery?

No – there are no phone charging stations at the stadium, please ensure your phone is fully charged before travelling to the match. 

Are there toilets outside the stadium?

No – There are no toilets outside the stadium. There is however a retail park with toilet facilities a short walk away.

Is there Wi-Fi at the stadium?

There is no public Wi-Fi at the stadium, if you require internet access, please contact your nearest steward.

Will the stadium be covered if it rains?

The majority of the Cardiff City Stadium is covered, however adverse weather conditions may affect spectators in the first few rows.

Do I need to bring cash? Are there cash machines near the stadium?

The Cardiff City Stadium is cashless.

Any advice for fans attending the match with children or infants?

Supporters attending with young children and infants should buy tickets in the family stand and aim to arrive at the stadium as early as possible to avoid busy periods of entry. 

There are pre-match activities for children and concessions available in the concourse.
