Noah Bushby has expressed his pride and excitement after being confirmed as the new Cardiff City manager.
It was announced in February that current boss Iain Darbyshire will depart the Bluebirds to pursue a new opportunity overseas and he will bring the curtain down on a trophy-laden spell in charge following the final game of the Genero Adran Premier season against The New Saints on Sunday.
It means that Bushby will lead the club in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup Final against Swansea City at Rodney Parade on Sunday 19 April, as they aim to lift the trophy for the fifth consecutive season.
Bushby has previously coached Cardiff City’s U16s and U19s, lifting silverware with both squads, before becoming part of Darbyshire’s first-team staff in 2024.
“It’s a very proud moment for me,” Bushby said. “I feel so privileged to be in this position after being at the club for seven years and a part of the Women’s programme. To now be given the opportunity to lead it, it feels incredible. I’ve been a part of the success that we’ve had and I know what it takes to be successful. I want us to continue that and keep pushing our Women’s programme forward.

“I think naturally, everyone has got their own stamp and ways of doing things. Everyone wants to do things in their own way. I will have learned a lot from Iain, he’s been a great leader of our team but I have my own ideas and my own ways of doing things. I definitely want to put those into place.
“I see the squad that we’ve currently got and I really enjoy working with the players. I want to keep progressing them. We’ve got a lot of young players coming through and players that we’ve given a lot of opportunities to. The players are deserving of it and earning it in training. It’s very exciting what the future has to hold.”
“Noah has been a key part of the progress within our Women & Girls programme for several years, and his appointment reflects the impact he has already made,” Cardiff City CEO said. “His work in building a clear and effective pathway for young players has been instrumental, and that experience came through strongly during the interview process.
“What impressed us most was his vision for how we will continue to grow and the confidence with which he outlined the next steps for the programme. He understands exactly what is required to elevate our standards further. I am delighted to see Noah take on this role and his appointment will provide the continuity, stability and direction needed.”
