The 2026/27 Genero Adran North season kick offs this weekend, with another exciting campaign in store.
Connah’s Quay Nomads have gone unbeaten in the last two Genero Adran North campaigns to claim back-to-back titles, but have agonisingly lost in the promotion play-off in both seasons.
Defeat to Cardiff Met in the last season’s winner-takes-all clash proved to be the end of Jordan Parry’s reign as manager, as he stepped down after five years in charge. Key players such as Megan Andrews, Elana Harley and Polly Wild-McGregor have also departed over the summer.
Former Wrexham U19s coach Andy Griffiths is the new man in the dugout, with teenage midfielders Sienna Perry and Tillie Ashworth following him from the Red Dragons. Seren Cashen and Non Williams have further bolstered the ranks, while the standout arrival is Rosie Hughes following her Wrexham exit. The striker is the all-time top scorer in the Genero Adran North, with 60 goals in just 23 games. Renee Day adds further top-flight experience to a side who will hope to finally make the step up this term.
Llanfair United have finished as runners-up in each of the last two seasons and player-manager Lucie Gwilt has kept the majority of her squad together as they aim to compete at the top end of the table again.
That includes Tania Wylde, who bagged 12 goals in nine games last term, and confidently claimed “next season, we’re winning it” when discussing the side’s title chances after picking up the Genero Adran North Player of the Season award.
Jodie Carswell has been the only major departure, while 16-year-old Erin Cornes has joined from Berriew and scored on her debut in the Genero Adran Trophy. Maria Ewers and Grace Thomas have made season-long loan switches from The New Saints – with the latter also finding the net on her debut.
It has been a busy summer of transfer activity at Flint Town United, who finished third last season after Rebecca Eagles took over as player-manager in February and led the team to five wins from the final six matches.
Plenty of goals have been added, with former Northop Hall hero Laura Williams returning to football after having her two children, while Kelsey Davies arrives from Llandudno – where she won two league titles. Midfielders Poppy Smith and Millie O’Connor have joined from English side Nantwich Town, Bella Riley arrives from Wrexham, while teenage Magi Pierce makes the step up to the Genero Adran North after impressing for third tier side Henllan.
Rosie Hughes’ absence will be keenly felt after the 2025/26 Genero Adran North Young Player of the Season departed for the USA, but key names such as Shannon Hobbs, Ruby McGilloway and Ruby Hastings remain.
Wrexham Foresters will make their Genero Adran North bow after defeating Llangefni Town on penalties in last season’s third tier play-off and the club – who were only formed in 2025 – have already made a statement with an 11-0 win over Llandudno in the Genero Adran Trophy.
Kirstie Kural previously set this division alight with Connah’s Quay Nomads and will be integral to Foresters’ success again after scoring 52 goals in 14 league games last season. Anna Thomas and Savannah Miller, who netted 36 and 27 league goals respectively last season, will also be keen to continue their free-scoring form in the second tier.
Kural is also co-manager along with Laura Tobin and the pair have been busy recruiting this summer – with a focus on youth. Ffion Davies, Freya Hayward, Mia Thomas, Ruby Smith, Lexi Jones and Evie Wigley have all joined from The New Saints’ academy set-up, while Maizie Johnson won the Genero Adran North U19 title with Wrexham last season. Jess Sayers and Tania Prior arrive from English side Shrewsbury Up & Comers.
Llandudno won the Genero Adran North title in 2022 and 2024, but slipped to fifth last season and only won two of their 12 league matches.
There has been plenty of change in Jay Davies’ squad over the summer, with experienced trio Sioned Phillips, Kelsey Davies and Megan Robinson-Skelly all departing alongside promising youngsters Seren Cashen and Angharad Jones.
Morgan Churchill joins after helping Wrexham Foresters to promotion last season, while a number of youngsters have also stepped up but the start of the campaign has been a challenge – Llandudno have lost their opening two Genero Adran Trophy matches by an aggregate score of 15-0.
Berriew finished sixth in their debut season in the Genero Adran North but have seen a change in the dugout over the summer as Regina Hanratty, pivotal to the team’s ascent to this level, stepped down and has been replaced by former U17s boss Gareth Hopkins.
With no major departures, the squad should be in a good place to build on encouraging signs from last season, while Jodie Carswell could prove to be a key addition after impressing for Llanfair United in recent years.
Dottie Evans starred with nine league goals last term and will be key again – she has already delivered a Player of the Match performance with two goals and two assists in the impressive 4-0 win over Llandudno in the Genero Adran Trophy.
Felinheli finished last season with three wins from the final four matches to place fifth in the table, while there was a place in the Team of the Season for standout winger Llywela Edwards.
Edwards will be a threat again this season alongside the likes of Catrin Evans and evergreen midfielder Jenna Tugwell-Allsup, but defender Llio Henshaw has made the step up to the Genero Adran Premier with Aberystwyth Town and winger Ellie Sian has made the switch to Bangor City 1876.
Angharad Jones is the most eye-catching arrival after the teenager winger’s impressive performances for Llandudno, while former Bangor midfielder Cara Aston adds further Genero Adran North experience after joining from Llangefni Town. Seren Ellis has returned to the club following a spell at Llanystumdwy and there’s further promise in the shape of fellow youngsters Megan Povey and Hana Williams.
Bangor City 1876 finished bottom of the table last season but were spared relegation due to there only being seven teams in the division, so will now hope to push on up the table – particularly after being integrated into the wider club structure in north west Wales.
More goals are undoubtedly needed as only two players – Menna Evans and Ffion Thomas – scored more than once in the league for Bangor last season and the latter has returned to Llangefni Town this summer alongside Milly Lowe and Jess Jones.
The incomings certainly provide hope though. Sioned Phillips is a two-time Genero Adran North title winner with Llandudno, while Hannah Owen also arrives from the Seasiders. Katie Bowe adds further experience having previously played in the top-flight, while teenager Grace John could have a breakthrough campaign after joining from Swansea City’s academy. Ellie Sian has arrived from Felinheli and already has assists in both of her two appearances to date.
