Genero Adran North | Weekend preview

It is top versus bottom in the Genero Adran North this weekend as league leaders Llandudno face Airbus UK Broughton at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Kelsey Davies’ hat-trick inspired a Llandudno comeback last weekend as Jordan Hadaway’s side maintained their three-point lead at the top of the table with an 8-3 win over Llanfair United.

The Seasiders will fancy themselves to earn another crucial three points in the title race as they face an Airbus side with just one league win to their name all season. The Wingmakers are currently on just five points and require a turnaround in form if they are to escape the foot of the table.

Stevie Donougher has scored a staggering ten goals in the two meetings between these two sides so far this season. Her four goals helped Llandudno to an 8-0 victory in October’s reverse league fixture before she scored a double hat-trick in an emphatic 9-2 win in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage.

With Felinheli not in action this weekend, Connah’s Quay Nomads will have the opportunity to move up to second place when they travel to Rhyl 1879.

The Nomads have returned to form in recent weeks with back-to-back victories over Llanfair and NFA, but they continue to require a slip up from Llandudno if they are to win the title.

Two consecutive defeats to Felinheli have seen Rhyl 1879 slip to fifth in the table, but they will hope to turn their form around and finish in the top half.

Elana Harley scored four goals as the Nomads won 8-0 against Rhyl in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage, while there were seven different scorers for Jordan Parry’s side as they put eight past the Lilywhites again in a comfortable league victory.

There is a crucial clash in the bottom half of the table as seventh-placed Llanfair United face sixth-placed Bangor 1876 at Mount Field.

Both sides have lost their last four league matches in succession, so this fixture gives either team a great chance of moving further away from danger and cementing their place in the division.

Llanfair captain Mary Bailey salvaged a point for Sunday’s hosts as she cancelled out Alys Davis’ first half opener for Bangor in a 1-1 draw in the reverse league fixture.
