Genero Adran North | Weekend preview

Expect fireworks on Bonfire night as Genero Adran North top two Llandudno and Connah’s Quay Nomads go head-to-head on Sunday.

Both sides have taken a maximum nine points from their opening three matches, with Llandudno sitting top by virtue of goal difference.

The two clubs also secured safe passage to the knockout stage of the Genero Adran Trophy last weekend, with Llandudno thrashing Airbus UK Broughton 9-2 and the Nomads winning 3-1 over Llanfair United.

It finished 4-0 to Jordan Parry’s side in the last meeting between the two teams in March, following a 1-1 draw earlier in the campaign.

Elsewhere, fifth-place Felinheli host fourth-place Airbus UK Broughton at Cae Seilo.

Postponements have meant that Felinheli have only played one league game so far this term – a 4-0 opening day win away at Llanfair – but they have progressed to the knockout stage of the Genero Adran Trophy and reached the second round of the Bute Energy Welsh Cup.

Airbus have earned four points from four league games so far, claiming a first win of the campaign against NFA a fortnight ago before a heavy defeat to Llandudno in the Genero Adran Trophy last weekend.

Felinheli triumphed 6-1 and 5-0 in the two league meetings between the two sides last season, with Ffion Williams bagging a brace in one game and then a hat-trick in the other.

Newly-promoted pair NFA and Bangor meet at Fford Derwen Playing Fields, with both sides still looking for their first league wins of the season.

NFA have taken one point from three games to sit seventh in the table, while bottom of the table Bangor have lost all three league matches so far.

However, both clubs earned draws in their respective Genero Adran Trophy group stage fixtures last weekend to give themselves a platform to build on.

Bangor were triumphant in both meetings between the two sides in the NWWFL on their way to the league title last season.

Llanfair United are the other side without a Genero Adran North win to their name this season and they host Rhyl 1879 on Sunday.

Josh Farmer’s side have taken one point from two matches and lost 3-1 to Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Genero Adran Trophy last weekend.

Meanwhile, Rhyl are third in the table with four points from three games. Their 0-0 draw against NFA in the Genero Adran Trophy last weekend saw them progress to the knockout stage at the expense of Llanfair.

Sade Benjamin netted a hat-trick in a 6-2 win for Rhyl 1879 when the two sides met in the Genero Adran Trophy group stage in September.
