Lili Jones says Wrexham will be looking to avenge previous final defeats against Cardiff City when they face the Bluebirds in the Genero Adran Trophy showpiece at Bangor City Stadium on Sunday (KO 17:00).
The Red Dragons are still searching for their first major piece of silverware since reforming eight years ago, having fallen short in the Bute Energy Welsh Cup Final against Cardiff in the past two seasons.
“It’s always an enjoyable game playing against Cardiff,” Jones explained. “They’ve been high flyers for the last few seasons so it’d be nice to do one over on them. Bringing silverware home is always the aim, and to do that for this club would be really special.
“Losing is always rough but there’s always a lesson with that. I think we’ve really built up some resilience over the past few seasons and we know how it feels to lose and we don’t want to feel that again. Going into the game there’s fire in our bellies and we’re looking for to a great game.”
2026 Genero Adran Trophy Final
Sunday’s final will be played in Bangor for the first time, and with a big support expected, Jones and Wrexham are aiming to repay supporters.
“We have a great following, the ultras turn up for us week in, week out and we’d love to be able to bring some silverware home especially for them.
“Playing a final up north is going to be a really special occasion, and hopefully we’ll get a big attendance at Bangor City Stadium.
“We’ve worked so hard over the last few seasons and I feel like we’re really starting to establish a really good squad now, so to bring some silverware home for the fans, for the coaches who work so hard week in week out, it would be quite rewarding to lift that trophy.”

Ambitions are high at the North Wales side, and after the appointment of Jenny Sugarman in the summer, Wrexham have quickly made themselves serious title contenders.
Jones spoke on the impact of Sugarman and the challenges the summer posed, after several changes both in the squad but also in the backroom staff.
“We’ve had a really positive start. I think we had a bit of a tough pre-season with the new manager coming in and lots of new players, so I think we hit the ground running really well. One loss and one draw from the start of the season, so it’s been really positive and we’re hoping to carry on that form in Phase Two.
“It’s been a blast. Jenny’s brought so much experience and knowledge into the squad and we’ve really stepped-up standards and I think we’re reaping the rewards of that on the pitch. It’s a really good environment to be part of.”
