JD Cymru North round-up | Llanidloes Town secure first league win in dramatic style

Llanidloes Town claimed their first JD Cymru North win of the season in dramatic style as Jamie Breese struck a 91st minute goal to beat Llandudno 3-2 at Victoria Park.

Breese and Connor Bird had put the Daffs into a 2-0 lead before two goals in a minute from Alex Boss and Harvey Bennett got Llandudno back level, but Breese produced the late heroics to secure three points.

Holywell Town remain top of the table and unbeaten following a 3-1 home win over Caersws. Ben Jones cancelled out James Graham’s headed opener in the first half, but a Zebb Edwards penalty and another header from Graham earned victory for the Wellmen.

Flint Town United are also still unbeaten and sit third after 4-1 away win at Chirk AAA, who have slipped to the bottom of the table.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and Elliott Reeves scored in the opening 15 minutes and while Chirk threatened a second half comeback when Ryan Davies found the net, Flint substitute Josh Jones scored a late brace to ease any Silkmen fears.

Second-place Airbus UK Broughton returned to winning ways with a 2-0 home victory over Ruthin Town. Goalkeeper Keighan Jones saved an Owain Morris penalty in the first half, before substitutes Kaiden Cooke and James Davies found the net after the break.

Mold Alexandra continued their impressive recent form with a 3-0 away win at Buckley Town. Danny Warren scored a first half brace before Jake Roberts netted against his former club in the second period.

Guilsfield moved into the top half with a 3-1 victory over Prestatyn Town, which proved to be Chris Jones’ final game in charge of the Seasiders. A Jamie Hyne brace and Joe Haycock’s finish put Guils in control before Bobby Murphy’s late consolation.

Gresford Athletic made it back-to-back league wins by triumphing 3-1 away at Bangor 1876 on Friday night. Haci Ozlu, Toby Gallagher-Keenan and Sam Spridgeon all found the net at Nantporth.

Shaun Cavanagh scored twice in Porthmadog’s 2-1 home win over Denbigh Town. The visitors’ woes increased when Ryan Kershaw received a late red card.
