2023/24 Nathaniel MG Cup first round draw

The first round draw for the 2023/24 Nathaniel MG Cup was made today (Tuesday 27 June) at the Nathaniel MG showroom in Cardiff. 

16 JD Cymru South clubs, 14 JD Cymru North clubs and wildcard entrants Cardiff City and Swansea City were involved in the draw, which was split into Northern and Southern sections. 

Before both section draws, two clubs from each region were drawn to receive byes into round two. These were granted to Caerau Ely and Trefelin in the Southern section and Prestatyn Town and Gresford Athletic in the Northern section. 

Wildcard entries Cardiff City and Swansea City will both face away fixture fixtures in round one. The Bluebirds will travel to Cambrian & Clydach Vale, while the Swans are on the road at Carmarthen Town. 

Also in the Southern section, newly-promoted JD Cymru South club Baglan Dragons play host to Port Talbot neighbours Afan Lido. 

There is a Flintshire derby in the Northern section as Buckley Town host Mold Alexandra, while newly-promoted Bangor 1876 make the trip to last season’s JD Cymru South runners-up Holywell Town.
