January’s Player and Manager of the Month shortlist

The shortlist for January’s Player and Manager of the Month awards in the JD Cymru Leagues has been confirmed.

The fans’ vote will be combined with a league and independent voting panel to determine the winners.


JD Cymru Premier

Manager of the Month

Richard Davies – Caernarfon Town

A perfect January for Richard Davies as Caernarfon Town claimed three wins from three games. After completing Phase One with victories over Bala Town and Flint Town United, the Cofis made an impressive start to the Championship Conference on Friday by once again defeating Bala Town away from home.

Lee Fowler – Flint Town United

Flint Town United opened 2025 with a 2-0 win over Newtown and responded to an away defeat to Caernarfon Town by claiming a 2-1 victory over Connah’s Quay Nomads in their opening match of the Play-Off Conference. Lee Fowler’s side now sit outside of the relegation places with those six January points.

Tony Pennock – Haverfordwest County

An undefeated January for Haverfordwest County saw Tony Pennock’s side claim victories over Aberystwyth Town, Briton Ferry Llansawel and Bala Town. Although two points were dropped in a 1-1 draw with Barry Town United, the Bluebirds scored ten league goals during the month.

Player of the Month

Osebi Abadaki – Bala Town

Although January proved to be a difficult month for Bala Town with three defeats from their four league games, Osebi Abadaki contributed two goals and an assist to double his goal tally for the season. The 33-year old will have an important role to play for his side in the Championship Conference.

Ben Ahmun – Haverfordwest County

It was a positive month for Ben Ahmun and his Haverfordwest County side as the summer signing from Pontypridd United scored four goals and added two assists to his season stats, helping his side to ten points during January.

Adam Davies – Caernarfon Town

The 28-year old scored twice for Caernarfon Town during January with both goals coming against Bala Town at the start and at the end of the month. Davies also added an assist with his goal in the 3-1 victory last weekend.

Josh Lock – Caernarfon Town

Following his arrival on loan from The New Saints in the January transfer window, Josh Lock has made an immediate impression at the Oval with three goals in his opening three games for his new club. Still only 21 years old, Lock now has seven league goals in the current season.


JD Cymru North

Manager of the Month

Jordan Hadaway – Llandudno

Despite a 2-0 defeat to Holywell Town on New Years Day, Llandudno went through the rest of the month undefeated as Jordan Hadaway’s side claimed victories over Guilsfield, Llay Welfare and Ruthin Town, scoring an impressive 12 goals in the process.

Johnny Haseldin – Holywell Town

Three wins from four games during the month made it another positive month for Johnny Haseldin and his squad, with only a 2-0 defeat to Caersws spoiling their record. Holywell Town currently sit third in the JD Cymru North heading into their February fixtures.

Michael Wilde – Colwyn Bay

A familiar situation for Colwyn Bay as Michael Wilde’s side continue to keep the pressure on league leaders Airbus UK Broughton as they registered another perfect month of results in the JD Cymru North. Victories over Mold Alexandra, Buckley Town and Flint Mountain saw Colwyn Bay score 13 goals, conceding just twice.

Player of the Month

Jamie Breese – Holywell Town

The goals continued for Jamie Breese in January as the 33-year old added another two goals to his total for the season. Breese didn’t find the target in the 4-2 win over Denbigh Town, but contributed two assists as his side made it three wins from four.

Nathan Brown – Denbigh Town

Another two goals and two assists for Nathan Brown during January as Denbigh Town recovered from their defeat to Holywell Town to defeat Guilsfield and Penryncoch. Brown now has 13 goals and seven assists for the season.

Mark Cadwallader – Llandudno

It was an impressive month for the 36-year old Llandudno veteran as Mark Cadwallader scored five goals, including a hat-trick in the 5-2 win over Ruthin Town. Llandudno claimed nine points from their four games with Cadwallader playing a key role in the side moving up to fifth in the JD Cymru North table.

Sam Hart – Colwyn Bay

The captain played an important part in Colwyn Bay taking maximum points from their three league games in January as Sam Hart played every minute of every game and provided four assists in the process.


JD Cymru South

Manager of the Month

Mark Aizlewood – Carmarthen Town

It was a busy month in the JD Cymru South for Carmarthen Town but Mark Aizlewood’s side claimed five wins from six games and kept clean sheets in four of those fixtures. Despite the 2-1 loss to Cambrian United, 15 points from a possible 18 made it a very positive January for the Old Gold.

Mark Dunford – Trethomas Bluebirds

Despite this being Trethomas Bluebirds’ first season in the JD Cymru South, Mark Dunford’s side remain very much in contention for the league title with three wins and two draws during the month. The side showed their character last weekend to come back from being a goal down to draw 1-1 with title rivals Llanelli Town.

Lee John – Llanelli Town

It was another undefeated month for Llanelli Town as Lee John’s side claimed ten points from four games with victories over Afan Lido, Llantwit Major and Newport City before being held to a draw by Trethomas Bluebirds. Llanelli Town remain the highest scoring team in the league with 49 goals so far this season.

Player of the Month

Scott Coughlan – Llanelli Town

The goalkeeper has enjoyed another impressive month by keeping two clean sheets in four games to ensure that Llanelli Town maintain their title challenge. A consistent shot-stopper who compliments the attacking talent in this side.

Noah Daley – Carmarthen Town

The team captain played a key role in Carmarthen Town’s success this month by scoring nine league goals which included a hat-trick in the 3-0 win over Ammanford on New Years Day. Still only 22 years old, Noah Daley has established himself as a stand-out player in the JD Cymru South over the last few seasons.

Liam Eason – Llanelli Town

The January signing from Pontypridd Town has made an big impression at Stebonheath, contributing two assists in victories over Afan Lido and Llantwit Major, before scoring both goals in the 2-1 win away to Newport City. The 26-year old also started the month by scoring for his former club in their 3-3 draw with Cambrian United.

Gareth Tedstone – Trethomas Bluebirds

The 33-year old played an important role in Trethomas Bluebirds gaining promotion to the JD Cymru South and is now leading by example in their surprise title challenge. Gareth Tedstone scored four goals during January, including the crucial equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Llanelli Town last weekend to make it 13 goals for the current campaign.
