The shortlist for the July/August Player and Manager of the Month awards in the JD Cymru Leagues has been confirmed.

The fans’ vote will be combined with a league and independent voting panel to determine the winners.

JD Cymru Premier

Manager of the Month

Richard Davies – Caernarfon Town

Undefeated in their opening five games, Caernarfon Town head into September as league leaders of the JD Cymru Premier. Richard Davies’s side have scored an impressive 16 goals in the process, following up their 6-1 win over Llanelli Town with a 5-2 victory at Flint Town United during August.

Andy Dyer – Briton Ferry Llansawel

Briton Ferry Llansawel made headlines in their opening match of the campaign as they shocked champions The New Saints with a resounding 3-0 win at Park Hall. Andy Dyer’s side have suffered just one defeat and sit third in the table after their opening five games.

Rhys Griffiths – Penybont

Victories over Haverfordwest County, Barry Town United and Llanelli Town have ensured that Penybont keep the pressure on early leaders Caernarfon Town. Rhys Griffiths’s side competed in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers during the summer and will look to challenge at the top of the table again this season.

Player of the Month

Mael Davies – Penybont

The influential Mael Davies has played every minute of their opening five games for Penybont and has contributed to their solid start to the season with the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win at Haverfordwest County. Davies was also on target in the 2-0 victory over Llanelli Town.

Ruben Davies – Briton Ferry Llansawel

The impressive 21-year-old striker has made the most of his opportunity in the Briton Ferry Llansawel side this season by scoring four goals in their opening five games. Davies scored twice in the 3-0 win over The New Saints on the opening weekend.

Tom Walters – Briton Ferry Llansawel

It has been an excellent start to the season for Tom Walters with five goals in as many games for Andy Dyer’s side. The 28-year-old Walters is already close to matching his goal return for last season when he found the back of the net seven times in the JD Cymru Premier.

Ben Wynne – Flint Town United

Despite a difficult start to the new campaign for his side, Ben Wynne has scored twice for Flint Town United and contributed an assist in their recent 4-2 win over Cardiff Met, their first victory of the season. Wynne also earned his team a point against Bala Town on the opening weekend with the equaliser in the 1-1 draw.


JD Cymru North

Manager of the Month

Mark Allen – Airbus UK Broughton

Airbus UK Broughton have made an impressive and undefeated start to the season, scoring 15 goals in their opening five games to sit two points behind early leaders Holywell Town heading into September. Mark Allen’s side are the leading goalscorers in the JD Cymru North.

Jordan Hadaway – Llandudno

Llandudno have also enjoyed an undefeated start to the season by claiming thirteen points from their opening five games. What makes their start particularly impressive is that Jordan Hadaway’s side are yet to concede a single goal.

Johnny Haseldin – Holywell Town

It’s been a perfect start to the season for Johnny Haseldin and his Holywell Town side as the early pacesetters in the JD Cymru North have won all five of their opening league games. Their recent 5-1 win over Ruthin Town being their biggest margin of victory to date.

Player of the Month

Harvey Bennett – Llandudno

Teenager Harvey Bennett has been in superb form for Llandudno with five goals and two assists in their opening five games of the campaign. Bennett scored the only goal of the game in the 1-0 win over Holyhead Hotspur on the opening weekend.

Jamie Breese – Holywell Town

After scoring 22 league goals last season, 33-year-old Jamie Breese has continued where he left off for the early league leaders by scoring three goals. Breese registered a double against Ruthin Town and the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Denbigh Town.

Jamie Hyne – Newtown

Following his summer move from Guilsfield, Jamie Hyne has helped Newtown adapt to the JD Cymru North by scoring four goals in their undefeated start to the season. Hyne scored twice against Ruthin Town, and also found the back of the net in victories over Flint Mountain and Caersws.

George Peers – Airbus UK Broughton

The current leading goalscorer in the JD Cymru North with seven goals in just five games, George Peers has enjoyed an impressive start to the campaign. Peers scored all three goals in the 3-0 win over Buckley Town and both Airbus UK Broughton goals in the 2-2 draw with Newtown.


JD Cymru South

Manager of the Month

Mark Aizlewood – Carmarthen Town

The Old Gold have enjoyed an undefeated start to the campaign with eleven points from their opening five games, with Mark Aizlewood’s side conceding just one goal that was registered in their 2-1 win over Cardiff Draconians.

Liam Williams – Cambrian United

Cambrian United have set the early pace in the JD Cymru South with a perfect five wins from five games and 17 goals scored. Just like closest challengers Carmarthen Town, Cambrian United have conceded just once and made an early statement by scoring nine goals in their opening two fixtures.

Dean Wheeler – Caerau Ely

Although they have only played four games, Caerau Ely head into September within touching distance of the leading pack having only dropped points in a 1-1 draw with Trethomas Bluebirds. Dean Wheeler’s side started the season in style with a 4-1 win at Ynyshir Albions.

Player of the Month

Luke Cummings – Carmarthen Town

The 33-year-old has played every minute of every game for Carmarthen Town as his side maintain an undefeated and defensively sold start. Cummings has also contributed the decisive goals in the 2-1 win over Cardiff Draconians and in the 1-0 victory over Aberystwyth Town.

Liam Eason – Cambrian United

Having returned to the club in the summer, Liam Eason has continued where he left off last season by scoring six goals in the opening five games. Eason began the season with a hat-trick in the 4-0 win over Treowen Stars and scored twice in the same scoreline victory against Cwmbran Celtic.

Kayne Mclaggon – Newport City

Newport City are still undefeated this season and veteran striker Kayne Mclaggon has already shown himself to be an important addition to the side. Mclaggon scored the only goal in the 1-0 win over Afan Lido and then salvaged a point against Baglan Dragons with a late equaliser in the 3-3 draw.

Babucar Sauane – Ammanford

Ammanford head into September third in the JD Cymru South table and Babucar Sauane has played every minute of their five games as the side remain undefeated. The 30-year-old is a consistent performer for his side and is already proving to be an influential figure for Wyn Thomas’s team this season as they are yet to concede a goal from open play.
