
The shortlist for March’s Player and Manager of the Month awards in the JD Cymru Leagues has been confirmed.
The fans’ vote will be combined with a league and independent voting panel to determine the winners.

Manager of the Month
Andy Dyer – Briton Ferry Llansawel
Despite starting the month with a dramatic 4-3 defeat to Barry Town United, Andy Dyer’s Briton Ferry Llansawel responded well by claiming seven points from a possible nine to put them within touching distance of safety. A 1-1 draw with Newtown was followed by 1-0 victories over Aberystwyth Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Rhys Griffiths – Penybont
An undefeated month for Penybont means they are guaranteed the runners-up spot in the JD Cymru Premier, their highest-ever finish. A 3-2 win over Bala Town was followed by a 0-0 draw with Cardiff Met, but Rhys Griffiths’s side finished the month in style with a 2-1 win over Haverfordwest County before beating champions The New Saints at home for the second time this season.

Andy Legg – Barry Town United
Three wins from four games has put Barry Town United in a commanding position at the top of the Play-Off Conference under recently-appointed manager Andy Legg. A 4-3 win over Briton Ferry Llansawel was sealed with an injury-time goal from Ieuan Owen before 2-1 victories over Aberystwyth Town and Newtown opened up a five-point lead over Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Player of the Month
James Crole – Penybont
The 21-year old has enjoyed a superb month by scoring no less than three winning goals as his side claimed second place in the table. Crole scored the decisive goal in the 3-2 win over Bala Town deep into injury-time, and then earned his side another six points with the winning goals against Haverfordwest County and The New Saints.
Will Fuller – Briton Ferry Llansawel
The summer signing kept two clean-sheets for Briton Ferry Llansawel during March as his side claimed crucial 1-0 victories over Aberystwyth Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads. The 31-year-old had to wait for his chance at the start of the season but has now established himself as the first choice for Andy Dyer’s side.

Rhys Hughes – Connah’s Quay Nomads
A key player for the Nomads this season, Rhys Hughes scored four goals for his side during the month including two penalties as they claimed victories over Aberystwyth Town, Flint Town United and Newtown. Hughes now has 14 league goals for the season.
Ieuan Owen – Barry Town United
The teenager established himself in Barry’s starting line-up during March and has rewarded manager Andy Legg with four goals and an assist. Owen scored twice in the 4-3 win over Briton Ferry Llansawel, including the late winner, and continued that form with goals against Aberystwyth Town and Flint Town United.

Manager of the Month
Gavin Allen – Guilsfield
An impressive month for Guilsfield started with an excellent 1-1 draw away to title-chasing Airbus UK Broughton which set the tone for three straight victories over Gresford Athletic, Buckley Town and Holywell Town to push Gavin Allen’s side into the top half of the JD Cymru North table.
Mark Allen – Airbus UK Broughton
Despite dropping points against Guilsfield at the start of the month, Airbus UK Broughton continued to show their title credentials with victories over Penrhyncoch, Llay Welfare, Flint Mountain and Ruthin Town. During March Mark Allen’s side scored 18 goals in just five league games.

Michael Wilde – Colwyn Bay
A perfect month for the JD Cymru North leaders as Colwyn Bay made it five wins out of five with victories over Ruthin Town, Caersws, Prestatyn Town, Holywell Town and Denbigh Town. Michael Wilde’s side now have the advantage over title rivals Airbus UK Broughton heading into the final games of the campaign.
Player of the Month
Mark Cadwallader – Llandudno
The 36-year old veteran continues to lead the line for Llandudno, scoring four goals in as many games for Llandudno during March. Cadwallader scored the winner in the 3-2 win over Bangor 1876 before scoring twice in the 4-3 victory over Gresford Athletic and once in the 3-2 defeat to Buckley Town.
Jamie Cumming – Colwyn Bay
Five victories for Colwyn Bay during March was helped by the contribution of Jamie Cumming as he registered three goals and four assists. Cumming was on target against Ruthin Town, Caersws and Holywell Town to take his tally to 13 league goals this season.
Max McLaughlin – Caersws
The 28-year old scored four goals for Caersws during March to double his return for the season. McLaughlin was on target as his side earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Denbigh Town before scoring twice in the 3-2 win over Llay Welfare, and then continued his scoring run three days later with a goal in the 4-2 victory over Buckley Town.

Danny Warren – Airbus UK Broughton
It was another impressive month for Danny Warren as he contributed to his team with six goals and three assists in victories over Penryncoch, Llay Welfare and Ruthin Town. The 30-year old now has 23 goals in the JD Cymru North this season.
JD Cymru South
Manager of the Month
Dean Brown – Penrhiwceiber Rangers
One defeat in five games during March has kept Penrhiwceiber within touching distance of safety at the bottom of the table. Draws against Llantwit Major and title chasers Trethomas Bluebirds and victories over Trefelin and Caerau Ely delivered a valuable return of eight points for Dean Brown’s side.

Sam Houldsworth – Newport City
Newport City have enjoyed a perfect month with a maximum return of 15 points from five games. Victories over Ammanford, Taffs Well, Carmarthen Town, Baglan Dragons and Llantwit Major saw Sam Houldsworth’s side score nine goals and keep three clean-sheets in the process.
Garry Taylor – Afan Lido
An undefeated month for Afan Lido has moved them out of the relegation places. March began for Garry Taylor’s side with a point at Carmarthen Town before the side claimed victories over Ammanford and Pontypridd United. A further two points were then achieved with draws against Cwmbran Celtic and league leaders Llanelli Town.
Player of the Month
Liam Eason – Llanelli Town
An excellent season continued for Liam Eason in March as the 27-year old scored three goals in three games as his side continued their push towards the league title with victories over Caerau Ely and Pontypridd United. Eason also earned his side a point with the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Afan Lido.
Lathan Garrett – Newport City
The 24-year old played every minute of all five matches as Newport City claimed five victories during the month. In addition, his goal in the 2-1 win over Llantwit Major proved to be the winner while he also contributed with an assist in the 3-0 win over Carmarthen Town.

Kofi Rowe – Newport City
Another key player for Newport City during their perfect month, Kofi Rowe helped his team to success with two goals and two assists as he added to his goal tally for the season by scoring against Carmarthen Town and Llantwit Major.
Mathew Stanton – Baglan Dragons
Three clean-sheets in five games and just two goals conceded completed an excellent month for the 35-year old goalkeeper who continues to play a huge part in Baglan Dragons’ push to finish in the top half of the JD Cymru South table. Stanton’s side only lost one game in March as they were defeated 1-0 by Newport City.
