The winners of March’s Player and Manager of the Month awards across the JD Cymru Leagues have been confirmed.

JD Cymru Premier

Manager of the Month

Rhys Griffiths – Penybont

An undefeated month for Penybont means they are guaranteed the runners-up spot in the JD Cymru Premier, their highest-ever finish. A 3-2 win over Bala Town was followed by a 0-0 draw with Cardiff Met, but Rhys Griffiths’s side finished the month in style with a 2-1 win over Haverfordwest County before beating champions The New Saints at home for the second time this season.

Player of the Month

Will Fuller – Briton Ferry Llansawel

The summer signing kept two clean-sheets for Briton Ferry Llansawel during March as his side claimed crucial 1-0 victories over Aberystwyth Town and Connah’s Quay Nomads. The 31-year-old had to wait for his chance at the start of the season but has now established himself as the first choice for Andy Dyer’s side.

JD Cymru North

Manager of the Month

Gavin Allen – Guilsfield

An impressive month for Guilsfield started with an excellent 1-1 draw away to title-chasing Airbus UK Broughton which set the tone for three straight victories over Gresford Athletic, Buckley Town and Holywell Town to push Gavin Allen’s side into the top half of the JD Cymru North table.

Player of the Month

Max McLaughlin – Caersws

The 28-year old scored four goals for Caersws during March to double his return for the season. McLaughlin was on target as his side earned a point in a 1-1 draw with Denbigh Town before scoring twice in the 3-2 win over Llay Welfare, and then continued his scoring run three days later with a goal in the 4-2 victory over Buckley Town.

JD Cymru South

Manager of the Month

Sam Houldsworth – Newport City

Newport City have enjoyed a perfect month with a maximum return of 15 points from five games. Victories over Ammanford, Taffs Well, Carmarthen Town, Baglan Dragons and Llantwit Major saw Sam Houldsworth’s side score nine goals and keep three clean-sheets in the process.

Player of the Month

Liam Eason – Llanelli Town

An excellent season continued for Liam Eason in March as the 27-year old scored three goals in three games as his side continued their push towards the league title with victories over Caerau Ely and Pontypridd United. Eason also earned his side a point with the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Afan Lido.
