JD Cymru North round-up | Airbus UK Broughton leave it late to maintain perfect record

JD Cymru North leaders Airbus UK Broughton left it late to maintain their perfect league record this season as they came from behind to win 2-1 against struggling Llandudno at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

Liam Ellis gave the visitors an 11th-minute lead, which they held onto until the 82nd minute when Jake Eyre equalised. The forward then added a second from close range five minutes later to record a fifth consecutive victory for the Wingmakers.

Holywell Town moved up to second with a comfortable 3-0 home win over Mold Alexandra. Tom Bibby broke the deadlock five minutes before half-time, while Danny Sullivan and Jake Cooke added their names to the scoresheet after the break.

Caersws made it three games unbeaten with an emphatic 5-1 win over Ruthin Town on Saturday afternoon. Neil Mitchell was the star of the show as he netted four times, but Rhys Hesden also caught the eye with a magical solo goal. The newly-promoted Bluebirds ended the weekend third in the table.

Flint Town United maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign with a 3-0 victory against Gresford Athletic in Monday’s late kick-off at the Essity Stadium. Elliott Reeves, Sol Forde and Harley Brindley-Peagram all found the net as the Silkmen rose to fourth.

Following a strong start to the campaign, Bangor 1876 have now lost two games in a row after Prestatyn Town triumphed 4-1 at Nantporth on Monday. Dan Atkins netted twice after Karl Clair opened the scoring from the penalty spot, while Bangor captain Tom Clarke deflected the ball into his own net. Corrig McGonigle scored a late consolation for the hosts.

A superb edge of the box strike from Tom Weir was the decisive moment in Denbigh Town’s 1-0 away win at Chirk AAA on Monday, as Dewi Llion’s side bounced back from two consecutive defeats.

Llanidloes Town earned their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw against fellow Powys side Guilsfield on Friday night. Jamie Breese broke the deadlock inside two minutes, but Jamie Hyne levelled just before the half hour mark.

Supporters had to wait until the final 15 minutes for both goals in the 1-1 draw between Buckley Town and Porthmadog on Monday. Ryan Goldston saved a first half penalty from Shaun Cavanagh before Telor Williams put Port ahead at The Globe, but Buckley substitute Sam McCormick levelled the affair.
