JD Cymru North title rivals Airbus UK Broughton and Colwyn Bay could not be separated at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium on Saturday afternoon as they played out a 1-1 draw.
It was Bay who opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Airbus failed to deal with Joe Williams’ long ball over the top, which allowed Jamie Cumming to race through on goal and poke the ball past Keighan Jones.
The hosts’ equaliser came in first half stoppage time as George Peers met Kieran Evans’ cross and powered a header into the back of the net for his sixth goal in as many league games.
A goalless second half meant the spoils were shared and Airbus remain one point ahead of the Seagulls with both sides having nine matches left to play.
Reigning champions Holywell Town suffered their third straight away defeat in all competitions as they lost 3-0 to Gresford Athletic on Friday night.
Charley Edge gave the Colliers the lead in style on 22 minutes as he curled a superb free-kick past Shaun Pearson, before an own goal from Ryan Edwards doubled the advantage six minutes before half-time.
Holywell pushed for a route back into the contest, but Joe Ormrod raced through one-on-one with Shaun Pearson and produced a deft lob over the goalkeeper to make it 3-0 and put the game to bed with 11 minutes remaining.
Ormrod was sent off for a second bookable offence in stoppage time, but Gresford were already safe in the knowledge that they would be moving three points clear of the relegation zone.
Late goals from Mark Cadwallader and Alex Boss saw Llandudno recover from being two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw with Denbigh Town at the Go Goodwins Stadium on Friday night.
Denbigh took control of the contest inside the first 13 minutes as Nathan Brown sent a powerful effort into the bottom corner to open the scoring, before he doubled the lead with a stunning free-kick from the edge of the area.
Llandudno pushed to get back into the contest throughout the second half, but did not claw a goal back until the 87th minute when Cadwallader bundled the ball home from close range. The equaliser then came in the fifth minute of stoppage time as Boss smashed home a loose ball.
Prestatyn Town were denied a first away win of the season as Guilsfield scored a 93rd-minute equaliser to earn a 2-2 draw against the Seasiders at Clos Mytton on Saturday.
Iwan Matthews put the Guils ahead in the 14th minute as he squeezed an effort past Robbie Williams at the back post, which remained the difference between the two sides until just after the hour mark when Prestatyn substitute Macauley Taylor picked out the top corner to equalise after cutting inside onto his right foot.
That goal sparked the Seasiders into life and they took the lead on 77 minutes as new signing James Stead fired home from close range.
But there was to be late heartbreak for Gareth Thomas’ side as Matthews scored again for Guilsfield to equalise in stoppage time, with Prestatyn defender Nathan Lavender sent off after the full-time whistle as commotion ensued.
Mold Alexandra also scored a stoppage time equaliser as Mold Alexandra snatched a 2-2 draw at home against Caersws on Saturday.
It was a frantic start at Alyn Park as Tommy Rowlands opened the scoring for Caersws in eighth minute, before Fabrizio Murtas curled beautifully past Max Williams to level the game three minutes later.
January signing Rowlands bagged his second of the afternoon to restore the Bluebirds’ lead four minutes into the second half, which almost secured his side’s first away win since August until Mold defender Lucas Gregson tapped in from close range in the 94th minute to earn a point for the hosts.
Caersws goalkeeper Williams was shown a straight red card shortly after Gregson’s leveller, but there was no late winner for either side.
The latest equaliser on Saturday afternoon came as Penrhyncoch scored in the 98th minute to earn a 1-1 draw away at Bangor 1876.
Ryan Stratulis, making his JD Cymru North debut for the hosts, proved his quality by beautifully curling a free-kick into the top corner in the 35th minute.
That looked to be enough for Bangor to claim a first league win since November, until Penrhyncoch won a penalty deep into stoppage time and teenager Owain Evans stepped up from the spot to score his first goal for the club and salvage a point.
Bottom of the table Llay Miners Welfare are now 16 points adrift of safety after they were beaten 2-1 at home by Buckley Town on Saturday.
Max Moore continued his bright form for the Bucks as he opened the scoring in the 12th minute by finishing calmly from a deflected cross which fell kindly into his path.
Welfare’s top scorer Jonathan Collo equalised for his side midway through the first half, but Moore set up strike partner Bradley Knight for what proved to be the winner just before the hour mark as he produced a clever flick past Mike Platt.
Consecutive away wins for Asa Hamilton’s side means that they have now bettered their points tally from the whole of last season.
The points were shared between Ruthin Town and Flint Mountain in a 1-1 draw at Maes Tegid on Friday night.
Jack Parry was in the right place at the right time to tuck away the rebound from Mike Hayes’ shot which hit the crossbar as Mountain went ahead in the 17th minute.
However, substitute Sam Jones equalised for Ruthin five minutes into the second half, with a point keeping Dave Evans’ side in the relegation zone and two points adrift of safety.
