JD Cymru Premier round-up | Bradley and Young hit hat-tricks in big wins

JD Cymru Premier leaders The New Saints ran riot in the final 10 minutes at Jenner Park to claim an emphatic 6-2 win against Barry Town United on Saturday.

Craig Harrison’s side only led 1-0 at half-time through Brad Young, while Ollie Hulbert drew the hosts level on 62 minutes. However, Danny Davies quickly restored TNS’ lead before Young netted his second of the game to give them breathing room.

The former Aston Villa forward would go on to complete his hat-trick in the 88th minute, but not before Josh Daniels and Ryan Brobbel had added their names to the scoresheet within three minutes of each other. Hulbert grabbed his second of the game in stoppage time to earn Barry a consolation.

There was also a hat-trick at The Oval as Sion Bradley netted his first ever JD Cymru Premier treble in Caernarfon Town’s 5-1 win over Cardiff Met.

All three of Bradley’s goals, two of which were free-kicks, were of superb quality. Forward pair Adam Davies and Zack Clarke also found the net, while Dion Donohue’s own goal got Cardiff Met on the scoresheet. The Archers finished the game with 10 men after CJ Craven received a second yellow card in the 81st minute.

Connah’s Quay Nomads returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 victory away at Pontypridd United as all three goals came in the first half at USW Sports Park.

Jordan Davies netted his 11th league goal of the campaign to go level with Aaron Williams as the top scorer in the division, Callum Morris converted a penalty and Ben Nash tapped home at the back post in a dominant display.

George Newell ended his goal drought by bagging a brace in Bala Town’s 2-0 home win over Haverfordwest County.

The Lakesiders’ number nine nipped in between the Bluebirds defence to break the deadlock in first half stoppage time, before smashing a penalty into the bottom corner just after the hour mark.
