The only JD Cymru Premier match of the weekend saw Cardiff Met pick up their first league win of 2024 by triumphing 2-1 over Caernarfon Town at The Oval on Saturday.
The Cofis had only lost one of their first six games of phase two before this game, but they went behind after just five minutes when they failed to clear Eliot Evans’ cross from the left which allowed CJ Craven to guide a low drive beyond Hari Thomas.
Things got even better for the Archers eight minutes later as Sam Jones doubled the lead. Another cross from the left caused danger as Barnaby Soady’s delivery flew all the way through to Jones, who made no mistake by heading home from close range.
Caernarfon halved the deficit five minutes from time through Zach Clarke’s powerful header, but Met were able to hold and claim three points, which saw them climb to fifth in the JD Cymru Premier table.
