JD Cymru Premier round-up | Haverfordwest County equalise late again

Haverfordwest County scored a 96th-minute equaliser for the second time in four days as they recovered from being two goals down to draw 2-2 away at Barry Town United on Tuesday night.

Ollie Hulbert and Evan Press found the net to give Barry a hold on the game at half-time and they appeared set for their first win of the season until Ricky Watts pulled one back in the 90th minute before adding another deep into stoppage time in dramatic fashion.

Connah’s Quay Nomads bounced back from defeat to Bala at the weekend with a 3-1 home win over Newtown. Jordan Davies opened the scoring inside two minutes before George Hughes equalised with a stunning volley, but Ben Nash and Harry Franklin scored within three minutes of each other in the second half to earn three points for the Nomads.

Reigning champions and league leaders The New Saints also returned to winning ways with a 1-0 away victory at Colwyn Bay. Adrian Cieślewicz scored the only goal of the game in the 55th minute when he met Chris Marriott’s cross with a superb looping header to beat Alfie Brooks.

Pontypridd United claimed their first league win of the campaign as they triumphed 1-0 away at Aberystwyth Town. Summer signing Keston Davies netted the winning goal on 61 minutes with an instinctive finish at the back post.

Gwynedd rivals Caernarfon Town and Bala Town were forced to settle for a point each in a 1-1 draw at The Oval that maintained both sides’ unbeaten starts to the league campaign. Naim Arsan broke the deadlock for the Lakesiders shortly before the hour mark, before Zack Clarke equalised for the Cofis.

Penybont and Cardiff Met played out a 0-0 draw at the SDM Stadium, with the Archers now the only side in the division yet to concede a goal this season. They had to work hard for this clean sheet, with goalkeeper Alex Lang and defender Emlyn Lewis particularly impressive after Tom Vincent had been sent off on 78 minutes.
