Following the conclusion of this weekend’s Nathaniel MG Cup Round One fixtures, the Round Two ties – to be played on the weekend of 2-4 August – have been confirmed.
The draws for both rounds were made at the same time last month, leaving some clubs waiting to find out who their second round opponents would be. Round Two is also the stage where the second tier clubs with a first round bye and the JD Cymru Premier clubs enter the competition.
In the Northern section, Buckley Town’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Prestatyn Town in the first round has earned them a home tie against fellow Flintshire side Connah’s Quay Nomads, who have won the Nathaniel MG Cup on three previous occasions.
Elsewhere, Ruthin Town’s reward for edging past Bangor 1876 is another home tie against 2023 cup winners Bala Town.
In the Southern section, perhaps the most enticing tie is an all-West Wales clash between Carmarthen Town – who came from behind to defeat Cambrian United in Round One – and top-flight Haverfordwest County.
Meanwhile, the two remaining wildcards Cardiff City and Merthyr Town face ties against Pontypridd United and Ammanford respectively.
