November’s Player and Manager of the Month shortlist

The shortlist for November’s Player and Manager of the Month awards in the JD Cymru Leagues has been confirmed.

The fans’ vote will be combined with a league and independent voting panel to determine the winners.

JD Cymru Premier

Manager of the Month

Andy Dyer – Briton Ferry Llansawel

November began for Briton Ferry Llansawel with a huge 4-0 home win over relegation rivals Aberystwyth Town live on Sgorio. Although a narrow defeat to Caernarfon Town was a setback for Andy Dyer’s side a week later, they showed their character with an incredible 3-1 win over champions The New Saints.

Rhys Griffiths – Penybont

JD Cymru Premier leaders Penybont picked up nine points in November and scored 11 goals in the process with victories over Caernarfon Town, Flint Town United and Haverfordwest County. Only a narrow defeat to The New Saints blotted their copybook for the month as they continue to push for a first league title.

Craig Harrison – The New Saints

Still competing on four fronts, a demanding fixture schedule of domestic and European appointments has shown a resilient side to The New Saints. Victories over Barry Town United, Haverfordwest County and league leaders Penybont in November keeps them in touch as Craig Harrison targets another title this season.

Player of the Month

James Crole – Penybont

A superb return for James Crole in November as he scored in all of Penybont’s three games, including both goals against The New Saints, to take his league tally for the campaign to seven. The 20-year old is quickly becoming a key figure for Rhys Griffiths’s side.

Ryan George – Briton Ferry Llansawel

November marked Ryan George’s return to the Briton Ferry Llansawel side and he made an immediate impression with an assist in three of his four games during the month to help his side claim what could be crucial victories over Aberystwyth Town and The New Saints.

Rhys Hughes – Connah’s Quay Nomads

Three goals in November has elevated Rhys Hughes to the Player of the Month shortlist while he also provided an assist as well as a goal in the 3-0 win over Newtown at the end of the month. The former Cymru U21 international has quickly become a key part of the Nomads’ side and will be essential to their top six hopes.

Nathan Peate – Bala Town

Although Bala Town drew all three of their league games in November, the experience of 33-year old captain Nathan Peate has been vital for Colin Caton’s side, as he helped his side keep two clean sheets while he contributed a goal in the 3-3 draw against Cardiff Met.

JD Cymru North

Manager of the Month

Mark Allen – Airbus UK Broughton

Another perfect month for the Wingmakers as Mark Allen’s side won all four of their JD Cymru North fixtures in November, scoring 11 goals and conceding just one in the process. The side have now scored 59 goals in just 16 league games to maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Asa Hamilton – Buckley Town

An impressive November for Buckley Town saw Asa Hamilton’s team win all three games as they registered victories over Llay Welfare, Prestatyn Town and Bangor 1876. The nine points move them up to fourth place in the table heading into December, with games in hand over the sides above them.

Michael Wilde – Colwyn Bay

Keeping up with Airbus is no easy task but Colwyn Bay are facing every challenge thrown at them and once again claimed a perfect record in November with three wins from three games. Victories over Flint Mountain, Llay Welfare and Gresford Athletic keep Michael Wilde’s side in contention at the top.

Player of the Month

Jamie Breese – Holywell Town

An excellent month in front of goal for Jamie Breese as he scored in each of the four JD Cymru North games played by Holywell Town in November. An undefeated month with three wins and a draw, Breese scored six goals to take his total for the campaign to 16 in the league alone.

Jordan Evans – Airbus UK Broughton

A goal and two assists during November has ensured that Jordan Evans continues to play an important part in Airbus UK Broughton’s success this season. Evans’ strike in the 4-1 win over Bangor 1876 at the start of the month was his fourth league goal of the season.

Nick Grogan – Buckley Town

The 21-year old played every minute for the club in November as Buckley Town claimed maximum points from three games and scored the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Bangor 1876. Grogan also chipped in with an assist in the 3-0 win over Llay Welfare.

Trethomas Bluebirds head into December as leaders of the JD Cymru South with three wins from their four games last month, the most memorable coming as the side defeated Cwmbran Celtic 6-4 away from home to build on previous results against Newport City and Cambrian United.
