Barry Town United maintained their perfect Novira Cymru Premier record after Elliott Dugan’s hat-trick helped secure a 4-1 victory over Briton Ferry Llansawel at The Renewable Centre Stadium on Monday.
Barry were awarded a penalty on the half-hour mark after Briton Ferry captain Alex Gammond collided with Dugan, who stood over the resulting spot-kick and squeezed his effort past Rhys Wilson.
Dugan doubled his and Barry’s tally nine minutes later as he raced onto Will Richards’ flick-on and volleyed in off the post. Ferry’s task of a comeback became even more difficult closer to half time as Jacob Jones was shown a straight red card for denying Jadyn Crosbie a clear goal scoring opportunity.
Luis Bates saw his curling effort strike the crossbar as Ferry threatened in the opening moments of the second half despite being a man down. The Reds were rewarded for their bright attacking spell as Ricky Lee-Owen hammered in the rebound from Gammond’s initial blocked shot.
However, a piece of brilliance from Owen Brain restored Barry’s two-goal cushion as the striker sent an outside-the-foot effort beyond Wilson and into the far corner for his sixth goal of the season already. Dugan completed his hat-trick with another poacher’s finish into the roof of the net as Steve Jenkins’ side made it six wins from six matches.
Haverfordwest County secured their first points of the Novira Cymru Premier campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Trefelin at the Dynamite Bridge Meadow.
Both teams rued their missed chances in the opening hour of the contest, but the breakthrough eventually arrived as Jacob Owen spotted Dan Hawkins, who found the bottom corner with a neat first-time finish to score the club’s first goal of the season.
Substitute Jack Wilson, who had been on the pitch for just two minutes, quickly doubled the home side’s advantage as he received Hawkins’ pass on the right flank, drove into the area and clinically poked beyond Scott Coughlin.
Trefelin halved the deficit deep into stoppage-time as Callum Saunders’ corner curled directly over Luc Rees and into the net. Rees made an outstanding save from point-blank range to deny Tref a late equaliser and ensure the Bluebirds got off the mark.
Over 2,000 fans watched on as Colwyn Bay secured a 2-0 victory over fierce rivals Llandudno at the Blue Turtle Arena.
Colwyn Bay took the lead six minutes before half time as Dan Roberts’ low drive was turned into the net by captain Sam Hart, who scored his first competitive goal since November 2024.
Striker Adam Davies then continued his epic start to life in Bay colours to give the Seagulls comfort as Declan Poole’s cross fell back out to the summer signing, who picked out the top corner to make it four goals in his first five starts for the club. Michael Wilde’s side have now won all three of their home matches played so far and are yet to concede a single goal on home turf.
Airbus UK Broughton continued their impressive start to the season with a thrilling 6-2 victory over Flintshire rivals Holywell Town at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
Airbus captain Joe Palmer got things rolling for his side as he met Tyler McManus’ cross and guided his header into the bottom corner.
Florian Yonsian brought Holywell back on level terms by rounding Louis Fallon and slotting into an empty net, but Airbus immediately had their lead back through Josh Stevenson’s header from Jordan Evans’ free-kick delivery. Mason Blackwell-Jones also scored with a close range header to bag his first goal of the season and put the Wingmakers 3-1 up at the break.
Yonsian pulled another goal back for Holywell with a calmly converted penalty following Palmer’s foul on Caio Hughes near the byline, but an eight-minute blitz from the hosts saw them take firm control
George Peers re-established Airbus’ three-goal lead by heading in from Evans’ cross at the back post before Kaiden Cooke fired home a rebound and saw his deflected effort from the edge of the area creep into the net at the near post to wrap up a convincing display from Mark Allen’s side, who have won three and lost three since their promotion back to the top-flight.
Sam Snaith marked his return to Cardiff Met in style as his hat-trick inspired the Archers to an emphatic 5-0 win away to Ammanford.
Met opened the scoring after just nine minutes played as Fumpa Mwandwe played through 18-year-old Myles McKenzie, who placed his effort into the bottom corner to score his first goal for the club.
Ammanford were then reduced to 10 men shortly before the break as Harri Rowe was shown a straight red card after VAR checked his late challenge on Jack Veale. Met quickly made the numerical advantage as Jasper Payne turned home Veale’s teasing cross at the back post for his sixth goal in as many games.
Snaith came on as a substitute on the hour mark and scored just two minutes after his introduction by heading home from Mwandwe’s cross. McKenzie missed a glorious opportunity from close range, but Met did not have to wait long for their fourth goal as Snaith met Veale’s delivery and produced a clinical volley beyond Luke Martin.
Snaith, who rejoined the Archers just a day prior to this game, completed his hat-trick with 11 minutes of normal time remaining as he latched onto Jack Hooper’s long ball, held off Euros Griffiths and lobbed Martin to round off a five-star performance for Ryan Jenkins’ side.
Callum West scored a brace, which included a stunner from the halfway line as Connah’s Quay Nomads earned their fifth consecutive win with a 2-1 victory over local rivals Flint Town United at the Essity Stadium.
The Nomads wasted no time and took the lead inside just 10 minutes as West tucked away the rebound from Abdi Sharif’s saved effort.
Egyptian international Hussein Mehasseb struck the crossbar and Harry Franklin forced a tremendous diving save from Jack Flint, but the Nomads eventually found their second goal thanks to a moment of magic from West, who intercepted Charlie Wilson’s tame pass, spotted Flint off his line and remarkably lobbed the goalkeeper for his eighth goal contribution in five games.
Harry Dean headed home at the back post to pull a goal back for the hosts late on, but Connah’s Quay survived that mini scare to continue their impressive winning run.
The New Saints maintained their unbeaten record as Danny Davies’ late winner saw the reigning champions edge past Caernarfon Town 3-2 at The Oval.
Ben Wilson made it three goals in two starts to put Saints ahead in the 15th minute as he applied a simple close range finish from Dan Williams’ low cross. Rhys Hughes made it two for the visitors just moments later as he received the ball from Danny Redmond, turned towards goal and curled beautifully into the bottom corner, leaving Connor Roberts no chance of the save.
Despite that early setback, Caernarfon gave themselves hope on the stroke of half time as Osian Evans produced a skillful flick from Zack Clarke’s low cross. In-form forward Josh Lock nearly added to his brace against Colwyn Bay last Friday, but his deflected effort from a tight angle was denied by the post.
Caernarfon then fought back to draw level in front of the 1,392 supporters in attendance as former TNS stalwart Adrian Cieślewicz haunted his old club by firing home the loose ball from Clarke’s blocked cross.
Although the Cofis showed great spirit to make it two apiece, all their hard work was undone in the 76th minute as Davies shuffled to find space on the edge of the area and unleashed a powerful strike into the net via the post to give Craig Harrison’s their fifth consecutive win.
Kelland Absalom saved a late penalty as 10-man Cambrian United held Penybont to an entertaining 2-2 draw at the M&P Group 3G.
Absalom’s heroics began early on in front of a four-figure crowd as he made a crucial save to deny Chris Venables’ header from just four yards out.
Liam Eason put the hosts ahead on the half-hour mark as he bundled the ball home from Jay Woodford’s header towards the back post, but Penybont found their equaliser shortly before the interval as Ryan Hill ran onto Tom Mehew’s through ball and calmly slotted into the far corner.
Cambrian edged back in front on 63 minutes thanks to Dylan Edwards, who retrieved the loose ball from Dan Higgs’ clearance and sent a looping effort into the net with the Bont goalkeeper off his line.
Eason was sent off for a second bookable offence following his rash challenge on Owen Pritchard though, and that proved to be costly as 18-year-old Ioan Phillips, who had only been on the pitch for seven minutes, met Pritchard’s cross and powered his header beyond Absalom from inside the six-yard box.
Bont had the chance to complete the turnaround with five minutes of normal time remaining as Danny Hillman’s foul on Pritchard inside the area resulted in a penalty. However, Absalom guessed correctly and saved Hill’s spot-kick to ensure the Cam Army secured a hard-fought point.
