The winners of October’s Player and Manager of the Month awards across the JD Cymru Leagues have been confirmed.
JD Cymru Premier
Manager of the Month
Tony Pennock – Haverfordwest County
An undefeated month for Haverfordwest County has kept Tony Pennock’s side as one of the pacesetters in the JD Cymru Premier this season. The former goalkeeper will be impressed by the defensive qualities of his team during October as they conceded just one goal in their four league games.
Player of the Month
Keenan Patten – Barry Town United
Two of Patten’s four league goals for Barry Town United this season were delivered in October as he added his name to the scoresheet in victories over Briton Ferry Llansawel and Newtown. An important part of the side, Patten has started every league game for the club this season.
JD Cymru North
Manager of the Month
Michael Wilde – Colwyn Bay
It is proving to be quite the battle at the top of the JD Cymru North as Michael Wilde’s Colwyn Bay side keep the pressure on Airbus UK Broughton with three perfect results in October. Two 5-0 victories over Gresford Athletic and Guilsfield were followed by a 7-0 win over Prestatyn Town last week to make it 17 goals without reply.
Player of the Month
Gwion Dafydd – Colwyn Bay
The teenager certainly has an eye for goal and found the back of the net in every match throughout October, including scoring four goals in the 5-0 win over Guilsfield and two in the same scoreline victory over Gresford Athletic the week before.
JD Cymru South
Manager of the Month
Dean Brown – Penrhiwceiber Rangers
Following a very difficult start to the campaign, newly-promoted Penrhiwceiber Rangers won two of their three JD Cymru South games in October including an impressive 3-1 victory away to Newport City. Dean Brown’s side have clearly adapted to their new surroundings as they move away from the bottom of the table.
Player of the Month
Sean Williams – Llantwit Major
The 40-year old veteran played every minute of Llantwit Major’s three JD Cymru South fixtures in October as they remained undefeated. Williams also scored the equaliser for his side, his first goal of the season, in the 1-1 draw with Goytre United at the start of the month.
